Crossfaith have been around for almost 15 years and been at the forefront of the metal scene with a blend of metal, hardcore and dubstep. With a dedicated fanbase packing out Newcastle’s Riverside it was going to be unforgettable show. With the crowd waiting in anticipation the music changed to a blend of EDM and techno with an announcement “the show will start in 10 minutes.” This was a brilliant way to build up the tension.

The lights dimmed, then the intro began and each member took to the stage, bouncing with energy. Starting their set off with Destroy from their most recent album EX_MACHINA which had the crowd bouncing. It became apparent that they are one of the hardest bands to shoot simply due to the fact they can’t still. Up next was RX Overdrive which caused a storm with the audience, with the audience chanting the lyrics back. The Perfect Nightmare was next this has a perfect blend of metalcore and electronic.

After a small break to speak to the audience Kill Em All was the fourth track of the evening however, I missed most of the track due to putting my bag away so I could join the crowd properly. Freedom was up next which originally featured Rou Reynolds from Enter Shikari. This is easily one of the best tracks they’ve released and it was amazing to finally see it live. Endorphin followed which was recently released in February, the track features some brutal vocals and has the classic Crossfaith sound.

In 2011 the group covered a track by one of the most loved groups in the scene; The Prodigy. Vocalist Kenta Koie told the crowd “this is your song, go f**king crazy!” The group began playing Omen. Half way through Kenta Koie spoke again to the crowd “The UK is very special to us; we class this as our second home, we love you so much.” This is before asking the crowd to sit down and jump when the track kicks back in. Everyone and I mean everyone sat down and jumped together.

Their ‘last track’ of the evening was Monolith this is one of their most notable tracks and the crowd went crazy. The group left the stage within seconds chants of ‘one more song, one more song, one more song’ began. The group returned playing Deus Ex Machina which is one of their most electronic tracks before firing straight into Catastrophe. The final track of the evening was Countdown to Hell.

The five piece were phenomenal and played a unreal set! They sounded brilliant and certainly live up to their expectations!
