Twin Peaks are a Chicago based band who have been on the radar since 2013 with having a few memorable gigs under their belt including an appearance at SXSW in Austin and most recently releasing their fourth Album ‘Lookout Low’.

Finally, the Original Rock ‘n’ Roller’s come to Brighton for a headline show. Tonight’s line up is an all indie rock showcase from Chicago and somewhat a catalyst affair for the rowdy mosh pit to form!

Tonight’s show is an all Chicago based alternative rock affair, in the manner of early ‘Stones’ style, merged energy and occasional ballad. Early gig arrives were greeted with the also from Illinois based support band ‘Deeper’ who deliver a polished post punk sound to a the early arrival of the fresh faced fan base who are already awaiting for, in anticipation for, ‘Twin Peak’ to come on stage.

‘Deeper’ consists of band members, ‘Shiraz Bhath’,’ Nic Gohl’ and ‘Drew McBride’ who started out playing Chicago’s basements and lofts to gain a wider audience, deliver tonight’s set with their, by now unique well-worn sound post-punk sound. The fans already quite hyped, enjoyed every minute of the confidently played out set, going along to tracks from the 2018 self-titled album and new realised song ‘This Heat’

By the time Deeper finish they playfully guitar driven set, they built up anticipation and the fans are tightly packed in at the front for ‘Twin Peaks’ to come on stage, quite swiftly. Chalk’s venue lighting reflecting the American flag colour theme, Red, white and Blue with the smoke unveiling Twin Peaks band members strolled on stage with a long  drum roll from Connor Bonder.  Caiden Lake James led the vocals with synonymous support from Clay Frankel, to loud cheer from the fans to the original garage rock classic, ‘Under the Pines’. Soon the mosh pit forms along the front with the lyrics ‘Walk to The One you Love’ been belted out by the audience.

The Twin Peaks set seemed to roll on from one guitar laden track to another with the smoke machine providing a thick vale around the band, but each and every one of the fans loving each and every one of the songs and moment. A short compromise continued with the likes of ‘Ferry Song’ providing a breather whilst offering more a melodic synth chorus merged with more classic guitars riffs!

The show soon came to a quick end with one being immersed along the way in the melodic lyrics and distinct guitar choruses with Twin Peaks exiting the stage with a wave and loud growls and cheers from fans. No one was quite ready to leave just yet and right on cue they returned with a an encore completing a polished set spanning the last decade or their music extravaganza ranging from a more fuzzy 1960’s psychedelic soundtrack, right through to some very meaningful, memorable songwriting.
