After having a successful year in 2018, 2019 is the year that The Murder Capital are going to gain major fame and success especially with the recent release of their debut single ‘Feeling Fades’ which has gained major success on streaming services. On Spotify alone it’s been played over 100,000 times in less a month. With the groups post-punk vibe, it’s no wonder why they are going to gain major attraction very soon.

Supporting The Murder Capital were local lads Blood Sport. The three piece have a clear passion for music with all three members working at local music venues and with them also having other projects which shows their commitment. This was my second time watching the lads and it’s great to see a band develop musically, included in their set they featured a new song which showed how they have matured as song writers. Furthermore, vocalist Jake Fernandes sounded better than ever. Blood Sport have described their music as ‘FFO Muse, Royal Blood, Don Broco, Death From Above’ and it will be great to see them release music of their own. Overall their set sounded great and the group were well rehearsed.

The Murder Capital! It’s incredible at how fast they have grown in a short space of time. With their punk energy they channel the true spirit of 80s rock. With only one song officially released ‘Feeling Fades’ and a live version of ‘More is Less’ it was hard to gather a setlist however this doesn’t matter as regardless of what song they were playing as they sounded terrific. As soon as they entered the stage dressed in what could only be described as Peaky Blinders meets rock, their energy was incredible with the guitarists all over the stage. Their set was great however the venue was not as busy as it should be, but I can easily see them selling it out once they have a few more singles released.

The Murder Capital were incredible, and they blew away all expectation I had of them! The group have already been booked for festivals like Truck Festival and End of the road Festival which will only increase their success. Overall, I really enjoyed their set and cannot wait for them to release more singles. They currently don’t have any shows announced yet but once they do, I recommend that you watch them!
