The opening act, Albert Hammond JR who is better known as The Strokes guitarist burst onto the stage and took the audience by storm. There wasn’t a Strokes song in sight..... but there was some brilliant indie tunes. Although he picked up his guitar to show off his skills, when he focused on his front man duties he was a fabulous entertainer and even the hardcore Fran Ferdinand fans couldn’t help but enjoy his onstage antics.

Fran Ferdinand swaggered on to the stage with a confidence that is duly earned. Forming in 2002 in Glasgow Scotland they are one of the few 2000’s bands that are still as popular. The night included songs from every album and showed how confident they are in all the music they have put out. The anticipation for the huge hits was electric and the audience exploded when they finally played “Take me out” and “Fire”.  This looks like a new start with new music and a new look for the band but Alex Kapranos makes sure that the shows don’t change, each one is a sprint through their back catalogue with a dancing, bouncing, scissor kicking  showman at the helm ensuring that not one member of the audience is able to stand still, being swept along by the bouncing riffs and beats that have become synonymous with FF.

Go and see them on the rest of the tour or head up to TRNSMT festival in Glasgow to see them perform alongside Chvrches and headliners The Killers on Sunday 8th July. Tickets on sale here at: www.TRNSMTfest.com
