Opening the show tonight we have local lads Real Ghosts. The self described 'shoegaze Metallica', they're the perfect band to get the evening started.

Playing tunes from their current EP "Beast Magnet" (which can be streamed at their Bandcamp
here), their humongous riffs fill the sold out King Tuts and get everyone ready for the evening ahead.

Stand out of their set comes in the closing double hitter of "Bridge Over The River Clyde" into "Sometimes I Need To Disappear", which contains some of the grooviest riffs we've heard in a long time.

With the promise of more new music and live shows this year, Real Ghosts are only going to get bigger.

Up next are Good Tiger. Featuring members of The Safety Fire, My Project Ghost and Sky Eats Airplane (to name a few), the progressive metal 'supergroup' have an amazing sound to them.

Frontman Elliot Coleman's vocal range is something which dreams are made of, and he gets to show this off when they smash out old tune "I Paint What I See".

With new album "We Will All Be Gone" released on February 9th, Good Tiger are definitely ones to keep an eye on.

The intro tape for "Hey Judas" plays as Matt Nasir (guitar) and Ben Dawson (drums), two thirds of Möngöl Hörde, appear on stage. Frontman Frank Turner appears in the middle of the crowd and kicks off what will be one of the craziest gigs we've ever seen.

A triple hitter of "Winky Face: The Mark Of A Moron", "Weak Handshake" and "Stillborn Unicorn" sees Frank spend the majority of his time in/on top of the crowd. Continuing this theme for the rest of the night, he spends minimal time on the stage itself.

We get amazing covers of Million Dead's "Pornography for Cowards" and "Smiling At Strangers On Trains". With Frank and Ben being past members of the band, this is the first time in 10 years these have been played live. Superb run throughs of Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak" and Madonna's "Like A Prayer" are also stand outs in tonight's set.

"Casual Threats From Weekend Hardmen" gets the sold out crowd whipped into even more of a frenzy, and you can tell by the looks on their faces that the band are enjoying this as much as everyone else present.

"We don't do this often, but now we're back at it it makes us realise how much we enjoy it" states Frank, which gives us hope that this reunion will be a lengthy one. That and the fact that, whilst there is no timeframe set in stone, the debut of new songs "Godfrey Numan" and "Full Tits" hint that a new album is in the works.

The set is finished with a blistering run through of "Make Way", which sees the wildest mosh pits of the night.

With tonight marking the first time Möngöl Hörde have played live in three and a half years, let's hope we don't have to wait that long to see them again!
