★★★★★ (5/5)

The final day saw an action packed line up that certainly didn’t disappoint. Andrew Cushin took to the main stage early doors and you can see why he has a growing army of fans, most notably Noel Gallagher who recently produced and performed on Andrew latest single “Where Has My Family Gone’.

The Richard Hamilton stage was stacked with talent with the likes of Laurel, Dylan John Thomas and Sophie and the Giants performing. All drew in large crowds and put on great performances.

Rising star Beabadoobee was next up on the main stage. The London based singer was really impressive live, having made her name with the track ‘Coffee’, which gained streams in the hundreds of thousands in a matter of days when it was released. She also played hits ‘Tired’, ‘She Plays Bass’ and ended with her new track ‘Cologne’. Beabadoobee are a band I’d definitely recommend seeing live.

Fontaines D.C were next up on the main stage and lead singer Grian Chatten made quite an entrance with a huge bouquet of flowers, which he happily lobbed stem by stem into the crowd. He marched around the stage really revving up the crowd before opening with ‘Televised Mind’ and ‘A Lucid Dream’. He couldn’t stand still for the whole set, standing on the edge of the stage reaching out to the audience and standing on speakers. They were the perfect warm up act for Sam Fender.

Sam Fender.. WOW! What a closing set that was! Johnny blue hat, Sam’s saxophonist, led out his 4 piece brass band all in Newcastle United shirts to play local hero, which was very fitting as that is what Sam has become. He was incredibly humbled by the reaction he received from the crowd as he entered the stage. He opened with ‘Will We Talk?’ and ‘Dead Boys’, which he was accompanied by Rachel Chinouriri for.

He later played his latest single ‘Howdon Aldi Death Queue’ and laid down the rules for a huge mosh pit, which was very impressive. Shortly after that he played a couple of songs solo as his band left the stage to catch their breath. He then played a five song encore with anthem after anthem and ending on ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ and what an ending that was. By far one of the best gigs I’ve seen live.
