★★★★★ (5/5)

Kicking off a sold out Saturday were Indie-rock band Airways who got the early bird crowd jumping and warmed up for an action packed line up. They put on quite a show and played some of their hits ‘Alien’ and ‘Reckless Tongue’.

Next up was The Pale White, a band from Newcastle who are really going from strength to strength within the music scene. The three piece band were warmly welcomed onto the stage from their loyal hometown fan base. Playing some of their hits such as ‘Swim For Your Life’ and ‘That Dress’ it was clear to see why they’ve done so well, really catchy songs with a great beat.

Following the Pale White was Sea Girls, a band I was really keen to see following discovering them on FIFA. Lead singer Henry Camamile graced the stage with his strong mullet and started proceedings with ‘Call Me Out’ and ‘Violet’, two absolute anthems! They went on to play their latest track ‘Sick’ and then ended with their best track ‘All I Want To Hear You Say’.

Up next were melodic indie rock band Circa Waves who are another favourite of mine. The liverpolean four piece band have created a real buzz in the music scene and are going from strength to strength. Lead singer Shudall has real stage presence, putting all his energy into every song.

The Kooks took to the stage next and what a band they are! ‘She Moves In Her Own Way’ and ‘Naive’ must be up there with my most listened to tracks of all time and it sounded even better live. With fans on shoulders, phones in the air and lyrics being screamed out loud, it was quite an atmosphere. Front man Luke  bounded around the stage all night putting on quite a show.

Last up was the Scottish legend, Gerry Cinnamon. Over 10,000 fans travelled down from Scotland to see their hero and the place was electric. There were confetti cannons, flares and a giant clock as the backdrop, very cool! Wearing his flat cap and acoustic guitar to hand he opened his set with ‘Lullaby’ and ‘Sometimes’, which received a great reaction shortly followed up by some other hits such as ‘Where We’re Going’,‘Belter’ and ended on ‘Discoland’. What a set!
