The Kooks headline a sun drenched 15th Anniversary festival appearance in North London

Most possibly the most highly anticipated event in North London with this year’s capacity reaching of 35000, with Headline Acts ‘The Amazons’ and ‘The Kooks’ rounding off a fantastic day in a stylistic fashion. Many of the fans were getting bored of seeing the fun everyone was having at Glastonbury so decided to have a little bit of their own.
As you entered the gate of Finsbury bark one was greeted by the glitter glad kinds in festival fashion style complete with cheap rose wine. Many arrived early, in a party mode early in the day to the sounds of Gerry Cinnamon pouncing on stage with the most colourful outfit, as Scottish singer songwriter and his acoustic guitar. He has already built up a following with his raucous anthems with is sold out shows playing songs from his album ‘erratic Cinematic’.
Following on the smaller N4 stage were ‘BLOXX’ just about to start they set. A band that is defiantly on to watch, playing the hit ‘Coke’ to a shoulder surfing crowd. The Uxbridge band Make up a infectious snappy sound who released a debut ‘you / your boyfriend on chess records back in 2017.
Navigating the now were happily crowed festival site, on the Main Stage, girl power girl Kate Nash took to stage in her impressive glitter sequin dress. Nash is much a large stage performer, interacting with the audience, who loved every minute, playing such songs as ‘Mouthwash’ and ‘Dickhead’ whilst prancing along the barriers amongst the fans.
Arguably Blossoms were the stars of the day with a ‘special guest billing’ as they treated the fans to a classic New Order cover ‘Blue Monday’, amongst the more classic hits taken from the first two albums..
Over on The N4 Stage ‘The Amazons’ took the Headline slot. The Band realising their second Album ‘Future Dust’ featuring more riffs and a darker feel, the now highly energized crowd were mostly treated to classics ‘Black Magic’ and ‘In My Mind’ and was by way the best feel good vive of the day as the audience sang along nicely to the riffs, never stopping to shoulder dance. One can certainly see The Amazons soon to be headlining festival appearances in the near future..
The Kooks provided the perfect ending to the day with ‘Naïve’ as the sun started to set over Finsbury Park complete with confetti. One did feel that the event could be run over two days with a less cramped band appearance and a later curfew, but the crowds left happy wanting more of a day.
