Following the phenomenal response to news of their forthcoming All Points East headline show on Sunday 24 August 2025, The Maccabees have announced the Radio X Presents YALA! Records Stage, which includes GB, Man/Woman/Chainsaw, Willie J Healey, Warmduscher and The Futureheads. A third wave of additional acts are also being added to the bill such as Hamish Hawk, Brigitte Calls Me Baby, Folk Bitch Trio, Westside Cowboy, Sex Week and Slow Fiction.
Reuniting at an intimate show at The Dome in London in June, The Maccabees proved to us all that they are well and truly back. Since then, the band’s electric Glastonbury set earned them 5 stars from NME and was described as “their most euphoric show to date”.
Commenting on their comeback, Guitarist Felix White says:
“In the intervening years, we’ve been to All Points East a lot, separately. It’s become a bit of a landmark festival for us, always checking who’s on the line-up. I’d go and have a great time throughout the day, but there was always this pinch of regret watching headliners that we could’ve done it ourselves one day too. I thought that moment had passed, and it was something I was prepared to come to terms with, that I was always going to miss. I think we’re all kind of shocked and excited that we get to do it together again.”
As if the return of The Maccabees wasn’t exciting enough, the addition of Radio X Presents YALA! Records Stage promises an unforgettable line-up of alternative music acts. Founded in 2016 by Felix White (The Maccabees/Tailenders/Sunday Times Best Selling Author) and his longtime friend Morad Khokar (award-nominated independent music publicist & former head of PR at Warner Records UK), YALA! Records has become the preeminent voice for genre-defining music. The Radio X Presents YALA! Records Stage will also be hosted by Radio X presenter John Kennedy, the station’s guru of new music and host of X-posure and X-posure Daily.
Kicking off the Radio X Presents YALA! Records Stage bill is GB. Originally from Copenhagen, the London-based experimental act has been praised as “contemplative and dreamy” by Line Of Best Fit. His debut album, Gusse Music, is a collection of explorative guitar music with pop influences, a record he’s described on Bandcamp as “welcoming and fun while hauntingly desolate”.
Brimming with chaos, London act Man/Woman/Chainsaw represent art-punk at its best. Having celebrated their 100th gig last year, the band remain alluring as ever. Their EP Eazy Peasy is a retro taste of what they’ve got planned for All Points East.
Oxfordshire-born singer-songwriter Willie J Healey is best known for his emotional storytelling and honest indie rock and folk-inspired songs. Looking up to artists such as Bob Dylan and Neil Young, Healey’s unique style is coloured by heartfelt lyrics and memorable melodies.
Raving band Folk Bitch Trio first met in high school, bonding over their shared sense of humour. Their debut album, Now Would be a Good Time, rehashes poignant stories about the phase of coming of age, unpicking the minor humiliations of selfhood in your early 20s.
Also on the bill are Westside Cowboy, a majorly diverse band who formed after having casual jam sessions in their drummer, Paddy Murphy’s, bedroom. They are inspired by a mixture of American folk and British indie music, creating a unique sound that they call “Britainicana.” Their most recent single, “I’ve never met anyone I thought I could really love (until I met you)” is what they call “a liberation from serious music.”
Sex Week are set to make waves at All Point East, a few days after their anticipated upcoming EP, Upper Mazanine, which will be released on August 1st. Picked up by Paste Magazine, the Brooklyn art-rock duo are known for their “mangled duets atop unpredictable, sluggish, infinity symbol-gentle soundscapes”.
Round off the line-up, we have the New York garage-rock band, Slow Fiction. One of today’s So Young Records’ breakthrough acts, the five-piece’s eclectic, buzzy sound will soundtrack your summer. In conversation with DIY, the band described their genre stylings as “If you love cold beer and long walks to the subway at night”.
The medley of alternative artists doesn’t stop there, either. Additional acts, including new wave-inspired Brigitte Call Me Baby. The Chicago band are pop provocateurs, melding gothic rock and the stylings of punk. For fans of The Cure and Boy Harsher, their EP This House is Made of Corners is radiant. A must-see act for All Points East, get Brigitte Call Me Baby on your list.
One of Edinburgh’s most exciting artists, Hamish Hawk, will bring his newly adopted bold, dark style to Victoria Park. His recent album, A Firmer Hand, saw the musician steer away from his soft, indie variations to a more personal, daring sound.
British Punk Band Warmduscher tackles tough political themes with a lighthearted, eccentric tone. Their lyrics are deep and abstract, dealing with issues like capitalism, inequality and power imbalances. They just released their fifth album, Too Cold to Hold, which blends punk rock with hip-hop beats.
First forming over 20 years ago, English post-punk band The Futureheads are ready to take us back in time. Known for their iconic Kate Bush cover of ‘House of Love’, the band are recognised for their joyous tunes and effortless harmonies and melodies.
With this dynamic new wave of artists added to the bill, The Maccabees’ return to Victoria Park is shaping up to be an unforgettable celebration of the band’s legacy and the show of the summer.
