The following was announced on social media....
Kicking off the September Bank Holiday weekend on Friday night are London’s Rock & roll poets, The Libertines and electronic dance music royalty Orbital, celebrating 30 years of Chime, one of the most influential pieces of electronic dance music ever written.
On Saturday we are joined by Culture Club, the multi Grammy award winning band, fronted by one of the most recognisable figures in British cultural life, Boy George. Since forming in 1981, they have sold more than 150 million records and sold out stadiums across the world with so many boundary breaking songs like Karma Chameleon & Do you really want to hurt me.
Closing Playground Festival on Sunday night is none other than multi-talented global superstar Nile Rodgers & CHIC and after a 10-year hiatus, Johnny, Carl, Björn and Andy AKA Razorlight are back together performing their most iconic hits America, Golden touch, In the morning and more. This Scottish exclusive will definitely be one of those ‘you had to be there’ festival moments in future years to come!
Not only do we have James, Macy Gray, Body & Soul and Vitalic, we have not one, but two INCREDIBLE special guests still to be revealed!
The rescheduled date means that some of our friends such as Gary Numan, Jon Hopkins, Kelis, Kraftwerk, Neneh Cherry and Underworld were not be able to appear as part of this years festival. We worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring most of our 2020 line-up into 2021 but the world had other ideas.
Thank you for standing by us, its been a hard year and I think we are all about ready to dance in that beautiful green leafy park of ours.
