Picture the scene: A sea of cowboy hats, fringed denim jackets and an echoing chant of ‘Let’s go girls’ creating an atmosphere like no other. The Queen of Country rolled back into town and welcomed fans of various generations into her Twain Town Salon for the evening. Previously visiting the Hydro the week before, Shania knew what to expect of the best fans in the world and the fans were ready for a trip down country pop lane.

Usually, artists make their grand entrance on the stage to their thousands of adoring fans but Shania had other plans. Unveiling herself from a cart in the middle of the Hydro, some lucky fans were able to get a more intimate performance as she was wheeled across the arena. The opening number Waking Up Dreaming meant an up close and personal experience that fans would only have dreamt of and now experiencing this as a reality

Visually, the Hydro turned into the coolest saloon in town and everyone was invited to the party. It was time to Giddy, Giddy Up and immerse ourselves in true ‘Howdy partner!’ Fashion and have our dancing shoes well and truly on.

With her impressive back catalogue of hits spanning across three decades, there was a plethora of hits for her to perform including some fan favourites Don’t Be Stupid (You Know I Love You), I’m Gonna Getcha Good, You’re Still The One and more, she glistened the stage in a short glittery dress with matching glittery trainers, completely bejewelling what is quite rightly her stage and proving why country music is as popular as ever, embracing some new fans along the way.

Two extremely lucky young fans managed to get an even closer and personal experience, being picked from the crowd and singing with Shania on stage to Honey I’m Home and From This Moment On, melting the hearts and not having a dry eye in the house. When artists care about their fans and give them unforgettable experiences, this is why gigs matter and why strong bonds between fans and artists are something that’s truly unbreakable.

Of course, Twain was to leave her two biggest hits until last which the Glasgow crowd were saving all their energy for. As soon as the guitar riff started for That Don’t Impress Me Much, the crowd were ready to give it their all once more. The main attraction of the evening was the classic Man! I Feel Like A Woman which the crowd had perfected Let’s Go Girls which clearly impressed Shania. Wearing the original outfit from the music video, we were taken on a nostalgia trip back to the nineties and it looked great then, still looks great now. A little piece of history was made for the die hard Shania fans.

Owning a stage and keeping fans captivated for two hours can be extremely hard work but the cleverly names Queen of Me tour, Shania proved that the Queen of Country isn’t planning to be dethroned anytime soon.
