ALL TIME LOW // O2 ACADEMY, GLASGOW
It’s a miserable Wednesday night in Glasgow tonight, but that isn’t stopping the queues of people who have lined the streets in the rain to see All Time Low play one of Glasgow’s iconic venues the o2 Academy.
★★★★☆ (4.5/5)
First on the stage is Games We Play who has come all the way from California to get the crowd hyped up. The room is pretty full already and the crowd is roaring ready to enjoy good music and a dance. Games We Play’s setlist was fun and energetic, just what you need in a support act to get them ready for the night ahead.
Next up was the amazing Lauran Hibberd. I’d heard a lot about Lauran and I’m glad I finally got to see her perform live because she was an absolute delight! Her stage presence was amazing along with her strong vocals. Lauran is a very bubbly and energetic performer who charmed the crowd from start to finish and even covered Avril Lavigne’s famous song Sk8er Boi that got the crowd hyped up and singing along.
Finally, before it was time for All Time Low to take to the stage, we had Set It Off give us their brilliant and fun set. The crowd was absolutely loving them by their singing along to the songs and jumping around with the band. I was out of breath just watching them!
It was now time for the main event, All Time Low. As soon as the lights went dark and the lads took to the stage, the crowd roared giving them a warm welcome back to Glasgow. It was very lively, and the boys were showing off their amazing vocals throughout the first few songs. A few songs in Alex chatted with the crowd to let them know he’s having a tough time with his voice and apologised if they must cut a few songs off the setlist. The crowd cheered him on letting him know that they were in full support. Halfway through their shortened set Alex took to the stage and performed Therapy that had the crowd belting it out in unison. They then moved onto a crowd pleaser of Time Bomb that got the crowd jumping around and singing along. Lastly of the main set was Sleepwalking, during this song we even got a crowd surf from support act Lauran Hibberd to end the main set on a high before the encore.
Of course, the boys couldn’t play a show without their popular hits, so to kick off the encore they performed Weightless, followed by Monsters and ending on the one and only Dear Maria, Count me in.
Although the set was shortened quite a bit, you could never tell as the boys still put on an incredible show and by the roaring of the crowd, I can only imagine that they felt the same.
