BLACK VEIL BRIDES // O2 ACADEMY, GLASGOW
Black Veil Brides are back in Glasgow on their short stint of UK shows with amazing support from Cemetery Sun and Lilith Czar.
★★★★☆ (4/5)
Gig goers descended to one of Glasgow’s most famous venues the o2 Academy ready for the return of Black Veil Brides, but first up was Cemetery Sun to get the crowd warmed up and boy did they do a great job! The room was now pretty much packed as the crowd roared giving Cemetery Sun a warm welcome to the stage. The boys produced an energetic set showing off their strong vocals and excellent stage presence.
Next up was Lilith Czar, who was phenomenal. From the moment she stepped foot onto the stage until the moment she left she had the crowd going wild. From “Here We F*cking Go” chants to loud cheers throughout her set, I think it’s safe to say the Glasgow crowd was very much hyped up.
Black Veil Brides have finally come back to Glasgow after quite a few years although you could never tell with how loud and proud the crowd were to see the lads back on stage. The crowd waited in anticipation and as soon as the lights went dark and the intro “The Phantom Of The Opera” began to play, the whole room vibrated with the screams from the crowd. The band powered through a fantastic set list of both old and new songs from “Rebel Love Song” and “The Legacy” to “Devil” and “Crimson Skies” which were all definitely crowd pleasers!
Front man Andy Biersack’s stage presence and charisma hypnotised the crowd all night with everyone watching in awe and singing along with him. Of course it wouldn’t be a Glasgow gig without the popular “Here We F*cking Go* chants filling the room once again, which the band even encouraged throughout the show.
It was towards the end of the show and the band has just finished “Knives & Pens”. The lights went out and the room fell silent for a short second before the crowd began to stomp and clap for “one more tune” as they chanted. After a short intermission of the crowd chanting and cheering, front man Andy Biersack appeared back on stage with the band soon to follow as he began the first of the encore “Lost It All” which was followed by “Fallen Angels” and then of course ending on an absolute high and a fan favourite “In The End” to top off this incredible return.
