On Friday 24th November, Glaswegian superstar Dylan John Thomas performed an exciting showing to a sold out O2 Academy crowd. This show, which was the last of his Scottish leg of shows after three sold-out shows at the legendary Barrowlands. Opening for the show tonight was The Assist and Voodoos.

Walking onto stage to legendary Scottish chant “Boogie” and “Here We F**ing Go.” The crowd were already in great mood as Dylan John Thomas appears on stage, despite walking on fifteen minutes late. Launching straight into the Tik Tok sensation of a song was his 2021 single ‘Jenna’. He follows with an upbeat rendition of ‘When I Get Home,’ another favourite to which the crowd seem to know every world as they sing along.

His set consisted of tracks off his debut album and also included some newer music to expect from his future album which went down well the crowd. A real highlight of the night comes halfway through the set with Thomas’ cover of ABBA’s Mamma Mia, he manages to transform the track to make something uniquely different to original and something which is more his vibe of music which incredible to see, even the crowd were loving it. He continues on with more original material, such as tounge-in-cheek ‘If I Didn’t Laugh’, the optimistic ‘Yesterday is Gone.

We come to close of his set which see him appear back on stage for fan favourite ‘Fever’ before finishing overall on anthemic take on his track ‘Nobody Else’ which was his debut single which has changed his life as a musician and singer. Overall short set one of greatest shows we’ve seen and certainly what’s next for Dylan John Thomas will be interesting to see.

Dylan John Thomas has recently been announced to play TRNSMT Festival next year so this will be next place to see him in Scotland. Tickets on sale now here -
