With the crowd enthusiastically waiting in the intimate Headrow House up in the bitter part of Leeds, Ugly Pop misfit ZAND was ready to take their spectators on a trip down to the sewers.

Their intro Descent opened the creepy sounds of the underground and a dominating strut applied with lip-gloss had the devilish DTP enter the unknown. Boys Like U brought its dichotomy of squeaky-clean beats and cheeky lyrics that their onlookers repeated back in delight. L.E.E.C.H.E.S. transported an unapologetically industrial infused anthem into the mix and club banging Deliverance gave the hidden subterranean rave life.

ZAND has shown that being a pristine music character was thrown out of the door.  Those days are gone. They were shamelessly revealing the freak with hymns dedicated to their fellow humans and it was greatly fitting for their Leeds crowd. Their newest addition I Spit On Your Grave was a tongue-in-cheek vigour to dangerous fantasies and Slut Money shared a sentiment to their audience to represent themselves.

The air was electric and there were no signs of winding down. Their encore of Religion celebrating lust and the playfully twisted Luci came to an end came. The irony was that it did not feel like the show ended. This marked a new chapter of ZAND’s journey. Tracks from their latest EP Sewerstar and their 2020 EP Ugly Pop gave enough air delivery and attention to alt fans present in the room. This was greatly greeted with admiration and ZAND not stopping.
