Opening the show tonight we have Cody Frost.

With brilliant energy, they get the ever growing crowd moving from the start of the set.

Highlights come in new single "Wot?" and the hook laden "No Admission".

Up next are nu-metallers BLACKGOLD. If you've never heard of them before, think of a new age Rage Against The Machine with tinges of Limp Bizkit and you're on the right track.

Their energy is brilliant and they get the crowd fully involved, with call and response chants of "BLACK" from the band and "GOLD" being screamed back by the crowd.

Highlights of the set come in the ferocious "On Another Level" and set closer "Boogeyman".

The lights drop and we get AC/DC's classic "Thunderstruck" over the PA (with the now rammed room in full voice along with it!) before "The Imperial March" comes on, and headliners Skindred take to the stage.

An opening trio of "Set Fazers", "Babylon" and "Rat Race" send the full place absolutely crazy.

We get a snippet of Nelly's "Hot In Herre" before a superb rendition of "That's My Jam" and are later treated to a drum n bass/dubstep version of The Proclaimers "500 Miles" which goes down very well with the Glasgow crowd.

Skindred recently dropped their new album "Smile" - which we are told was named that as they had nothing to smile about during the pandemic, and wanted to smile at all the bullshit going on in the world.

We get frontman Benji Webbe and guitarist Mikey Demus on stage for "Life That's Free" (from the aforementioned new album), which Benji tells us is about him seeing so many people falling to drugs, and he didn't know how to talk to them about it, so wrote a song about it instead.

As is always the case with a Skindred live show, their energy is unmatched. Benji's back and forth banter with the crowd is great, and as a band they are one of the tightest around.

The main set is closed with old school classic "Nobody" and one of their latest singles "Gimme That Boom".

We then get an encore of "Our Religion" and "Warning" - the latter which has Cody Frost and Spookz (of BLACKGOLD) on stage for backing vocals. We also get the Newport Helicopter (when the crowd all take off an item of clothing and swing it around their heads) which is a spectacle within itself!

This tour is an absolutely outstanding lineup, full of energy and one not to be missed!
