FATHERSON // THE LEMON TREE, ABERDEEN
FATHERSON return to Aberdeen for sold-out intimate show at The Lemon Tree.
★★★★☆
Fatherson have started the tour strong with many dates being sold out across the UK. Aberdeen has a special night at Lemon Tree as it is the first date of the tour meaning all the fans were really surprise with the setlist as they had no idea what to expect. With only a few dates left that are not sold out be sure to get some tickets before they do. Lemon Tree is always a great venue as it has great acoustics which really strengthened their set it is a great intimate venue.
With support form Vistas on this tour the fans are in for a great night at every date of the tour. The Vistas are an Edinburgh band. They started with their song “Sign Language” and sang a number of their own songs throughout the set. The tour is stretched over a few months meaning they are covering lots of different venues across the UK which is great coverage for the up and coming band.
Fatherson are a Scottish alternative rock band formed in Kilmarnock, consisting of Ross Leighton (Guitar, lead vocals), Marc Strain (Bass) and Greg Walkinshaw (Drums). They have been going around since 2010 and have worked hard to get the presence and fanbase that they have no. Alongside this they have toured with the bands Biffy Clyro, Frightened Rabbit, Panic! at the Disco, Feeder, Twin Atlantic, Enter Shikari and Idlewild. The band have released three studio albums, I Am an Island (2014), Open Book (2016) and released their third studio album, Sum Of All Your Parts in September 2018.
The lights dimmed in the venue and the stage lights were going wild, they were strong colours with lots of smoke so when they walked onto the stage it created a great atmosphere for “Charm School”. Fathersons have so much energy on stage and really made use of the side of the venue and had the band right at the back and the mics right at the front. This meant when they were performing they were easily able to jump and dance around the whole stage. They were interacting with the crowd the whole night and loved when the crowd was cheering along with them it looked like something they would never get used to. They continued the night with some great songs “Mine For Me” and “Always” they did not disappoint for their first night out the sold out venue.
