PALACE // RIVERSIDE, NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
On a cold autumnal night in November, Palace were in town and they certainly warmed up the crowd.

Indie-Pop band ‘All We Are’ are supporting Palace on their UK tour. The three-piece from Liverpool were the perfect support for the main act.
Luis, the lead guitarist took to a smoke filled stage to open up their set, playing a short guitar solo before being joined by Rich and Guro.
Three days prior to the gig, they released their new single ‘L Is For Lose’ and its brilliant! They played their hits such as ‘Feel Safe’, which the crowd swayed along to, as well as ‘Waiting’ and ‘Human’. Guro, who is from Norway, climbed over the metal barrier during their final song ‘Human’ and played the bass whilst walking through the crowd. Their fans loved that!
The Riverside was packed to the rafters when Palace took to the stage. The four-piece band from London released their new album ‘Life After’ in July and played tracks from it throughout the night.
The atmosphere in the Riverside was very chilled as Palace put their heart and soul into their songs and it was telling from the emotion and smiles in the crowd. The yellow strobe lighting and little vintage light bulbs that surrounded the stage along with the dry ice only added to the moving atmosphere.
Their huge hit ‘Live Well’, from their new album was met with a great reception from the crowd. Lead guitarist, Rupert Turner did very well to continue playing after his guitar strap came undone during the song!
Their songs were filled with so much emotion and ‘Younger’ and ‘Heaven Up There’ were particular highlights. Lead singer, Leo Wyndham hit high notes with ease and you could see the passion in his face with every note.
They also played some of their golden oldies ‘Veins’ and ‘Bitter’, which they said they normally don’t play live. ‘Bitter’ was a great ending with a powerful guitar solo before signing off with ‘we’ll see you again soon’.
At this current point in time, I think they’re one of the best indie bands around, with that gift of being able to draw the audience into an emotional connection with their music!
Onwards and upwards Palace!!
