On one of the coldest nights in Glasgow so far this year, the bars were decked out with mod-cuts and parkas by the Glaswegian crowd, to represent on of Manchester’s biggest rockstars ‘ Liam Gallagher ‘ was in town for the fourth night of his current UK Tour.

Opening the night was… Dylan John Lewis and DMA’s. - DMA’s bought their relish and British-Pop influence sound before mighty ‘ Liam Gallagher ‘ took to the stage. DMA’s bought in massive crowd before and were clearly a lot of fans within the Glaswegian crowd there excited to see them. The band’s new single “Silver” got played for first time in Glasgow and was definitely one of the highlights of their epic set. It was a really good indication of where they’re going as band and something expect coming up on their brand new album which is released next year.

Before ‘ Liam Gallagher ‘ appears on stage, the anticipation builds up within the arena with mass singalongs of The Jam’s “Town Called Malice” and The Stone Roses’s “I Am The Resurrection” which ringed around the arena and gave good indication things were going to follow the same through Liam Gallagher’s headline set. Shortly after this the lights fade and dim out and then the chants of “Liam” begin and Oasis’s “Fuckin In The Bushes” was played to backdrop of Liam Gallagher himself appearing on screen. The cheer massively as he comes on stage following the interlude transmission with his trademark swagger is deafening “Rock ‘N’ Roll Star” which opens proceedings in a very chaotic way as to be expected. Pints worth £5-£6 were being thrown from one side to another the arena and also smoke flares being set off with one even landing on stage and Gallagher pointing at it. There was definitely a real festival atmosphere within the arena with countless people are on people shoulders as well.

As things started calm down with next track “Halo” off his second solo release “Why Me, Why Not?” which yet is for some reason there’s sense of tension in the air. Whether its the edgy persona of Liam Gallagher himself or the rowdiness of the Glaswegian crowd which felt a little awkward in the Arena. This was soon dispelled during “Shockwave” and “Wall Of Glass” which got the Glaswegian crowd more involved again. The atmosphere felt like being back in a proper “Oasis show crowd”. This was also first of many surprises tonight for the Glaswegian crowd as when ex Oasis member ‘ Bonehead ‘ appears on stage to perform a number of Oasis hit including “Morning Glory”, “Columbia” and “Stand By Me”. None of these songs have lost anything in the years since Oasis split and have still got same belting song which makes them belters to this day right now.

As the paces starts to take another step down with a few slower numbers off his latest album including “One Of Us” which sees Gallagher’s son taking part in the band for a number of songs and also sees the live debut in Glasgow of “Be Still” and “Greedy Soul” from his debut album “ As You Were “ which has given the acoustic treatment as well allows everyone to catch their breath again after the energetic start to the show. During the show there was also an outing for “The World’s Not Set in Stone”, from the “Beady Eye” project which Gallagher fronted in between Oasis split and his solo material. It doesn’t quite register for the most of the 13,000 plus that are in the area tonight but it’s alright as it was all Oasis and all hits from there on.

Gallagher gave the Glaswegian crowd a rare treat in form of “Gas Panic” which hasn’t be played by a member of Oasis in Scotland since 2002. The low burner from “Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants” which was rare treat for all those old school fans present. Ending his epic set with Undoubtably, the biggest singalong of the night so far was saved for “Wonderwall” which is still massive belter today. The glows of about a thousand phones fill the arena as everyone wants to capture the special moment for themselves. As Liam Gallagher leaves the stage to even more chants of “Liam”, he promises the Glaswegian crowd he will return shortly.

As you would expect at concert in terms of encore, you honestly can’t get any much better than what the Glaswegian crowd were treated with tonight. The first song of which Liam has previously been reluctant to ever play even after of pressure from fans, mainly because of the input of the chorus which his brother Noel did, Neither Gallagher brothers have performed the track since they were still in Oasis during 2006 and it was quite possibly the best song that Oasis every recorded during their time as a band, it was staggeringly only ended up being as a B-Side. But as you can imagine you can tell he’s sceptical at first, but the way of the chorus rings out around Glasgow, he is instantly won over and even mentions how good it felt; something which was uncharacteristic even of the big man himself on stage!

The show wasn’t finished as the Oasis tunes continued as “Roll With It” and “Supersonic” which main that same energy. It feels rentless in same best possible way after hearing these songs with a full band in a live setting, only makes you want dream of Oasis and Gallagher Brothers getting back together once again. “I want to this opportunity to apologise for my little brother for what he said about your country.”, “Scotland the f***ing bollocks and so are the people.”, “You’ve always been very kind to us since we out with Oasis so f*** knows what he’s on about.” and he also told Glaswegin crowd “he might just buy a big house here in Scotland.”. He ended his encore with massive sing along of “Champagne Supernova” and there was not one person in the arena who wasn’t joining in.

Gallagher appeared again for second Encore performing the Oasis classic “Cigarettes and Alcohol” as Glaswegian crowd were treated and delighted. With some fans thinking the show was already over running back into the Arena to see the track being performed. Soon after Gallagher left the stage for the final time tonight thanking the Glaswegian crowd and walking off in a very high and good mood. As the lights come up on the night you see the puddles of beer and clothes, jackets which flood the arena floor, the singing and chanting doesn’t stop even out into the streets and the car park. It’s clear that these songs and this are going to be with people for very long time going forward.
