MILES KANE // THE LIQUID ROOMS, EDINBURGH

Miles Kane rocked up to the Scottish capital on Saturday night to bring a close to his latest stint on the road, the ‘Crispy Tour’.

This tour seemed to be just for a bit of fun and for the sake of it while he’s busy preparing his next album. He’s been hitting slightly more intimate venues, much like Liquid Room, the chosen location for his Edinburgh show

Kane started the show at max energy with knock out tune ‘Coup De Grace’ then straight into riff heavy ‘Can You See Me Now’. The crowd were right up for it, creating pit at pit after pit.

“Hello Edinburgh, it’s been too long” Kane said in awe of the sold out crowd.

Kane gave the crowd a chance to catch their breath while belting out tune ‘Killing the Joke’. This low paced sing along didn’t last long though, with Kane and his band working through indie hit after hit. Going to one of his shows really reminds you of the almighty songwriting talent Kane possesses, and his guitar playing is second to none. It’s also great to see the band on stage having just as much of a good time as the crowd they’re playing too, it makes the occasion even more special.

Kane toyed with the crowd during the build up to the final chorus on ‘Come Closer’, getting them to repeat the famous chant, echoing back and forth throughout the venue.

Kane welcomed his brilliant support ‘Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard’ back on stage to play a cover of LCD Soundsystem’s ‘Daft Punk is Playing in My House’ with hime and his band. The small stage was packed with people and energy, 8 bodies to be exact.

Newest release ‘Blame It On The Summertime’ was given a spin and went down a treat, with its bright melody and catchy lyrics adding a bit of sunshine to this drizzly October night.

Kane finished the evening on a high with ‘Don’t Forget Who You Are’. The positive tune all about believing in yourself went down well as per usual which I’m sure left the crowd with great memories from a brilliant night.
