★★★★★ (5/5)

First up was The Mysterines, the three piece filled the room with heavy guitars and energy from the get go. Their rocky set was well received by the crowd as mosh pits opened in the middle of the floor much to the delight of the band. There was a frequent sea of jumping audience members throughout the bands set which when paired with people jumping onto each others shoulders made for a sweaty atmosphere within the venue. The bands electric riffs have you bopping along subconsciously, having never seen the band previously I was pleasantly surprised by their presence. The band exits the stage to a sea of applause. They’re definitely a band to see!

Next up was tonight’s headliners, Sea Girls! Having seen this band previously at a festival I was curious to see what their headliner would entail, they didn’t disappoint. The four piece arrive on stage to a sea of screams from their excited audience. The band opens with fan favourite Violet which is sang loudly by the fans along the barrier, the energy from both the band and the fans is on par. Guitarist Rory Young bounces around on stage spurring the fans on even more, he’s a ball of energy.

The colourful stage lighting is on par with the bands energy and illuminates the stage perfectly. Too Much Fun sees the room bounce as the audience jumps along with the band singing loudly, it’s the perfect transition into Open Up Your Head which sees the room sing along in unison whilst maintaining a high level of energy. “You don’t see me like the others see me” echoes across the fully packed room as fans of all ages sing along with the band. Arms wave in unison as the song progresses much to the delight of the band. As closer begins the room seems to bounce around even more than before, if that was even possible! The energy levels present within this room were to blame for how hot and sweaty the room was, but it only encouraged more bouncing.

The room was filled frequently with guitar riffs as the band played banger after banger! The band can frequently be seen jumping along with the fans encouraging the levels of energy to never drop. Damage Is Done sees frontman Henry Camamile climb into the crowd and dance within the packed-out floor, he then proceeds to make his way to the sound box where he climbs up and dances some more. This song was a staple in the setlist and was very clearly a fan favourite. As new song; Ready For More begins the crowd bops along once more. The song is full of signature Sea Girls vibes and a very easy listen. A single crowd surfer goes over the crowd which invokes cheers from the audience members as he’s lifted to safety by security. All I Want to Hear You Say is an obvious crowd favourite within the setlist by the reaction it gets from the crowd from the moment it begins to the moment it ends.

The entire room jumps along with the band once more as they’re asked, “Are you with us?”. The audience claps along with the beat of the music adding another level of intimacy to the setting. As the band begins their final song pre encore they say, “We’ve been Sea Girls” and begin Call Me Out which once again sees fans jumping around and singing. The band exits the stage to a chant of “One More Song” from the audience before they return for their final three songs. The final three contains a cover from the cure and two more signature Sea Girls Tracks. As the band begins Adored frontman Henry encourages the crowd to jump around with him one more time.

Sea Girls put on an incredible show complete with catchy songs which will be stuck in your head for days afterwards. The band put on a show and kept their audience jumping from start to finish! They’re a band to see if they play a show near you, they never disappoint!
