The March 2018 UK tour will feature Joe alongside a hand-picked group of world-class musicians playing material from Blues of Desperation, plus classic Bonamassa fan favourites. Although for his Aberdeen tour date he did not have a support act. Without support it meant he could get right into his performance without making the crowd wait longer than they had too. Blues is a notoriously difficult music form to break into with opinions firmly entrenched in tradition. Bonamassa has managed to break down those barriers to arguably bring the blues to a much wider audience than any other guitarist in the last 20 years.
Only a fool or a genius would open a show with four new songs. His performance was very slick and professional he was loving his time on the stage he opened with King Bee Shakedown a song that will be released later on in the year alongside many more he performed on the night. He didn't interact too much with the crowd and that allowed him to fit loads of songs into the evening so you definitely got the full experience in relation to old and new songs. Bonamassa had great transitions into his songs, this just ensured the focus was on his music and the atmosphere. He has many guitar changes during the set however this was expected due to it being his prime instrument and that he has many Gibson guitars with his name on them. During the performance he has so many amazing guitar solos, they were all very well structured during his time on stage and meant that at times the focus could purley be on the guitar and no other background noise.
