New Jersey's Brick + Mortar are the openers for tonight's show. A two piece, consisting of Brandon Asraf (bass/vocals) and John Tacon (drums/electronic samples/vocals), they are a good fun band to get the night started.

They utilise a projector screen behind them which displays some wacky cartoons to go along with the equally wacky themes of the songs that they perform.

Along with the band members they also have a 'prop hand' as such who randomly appears on stage with various different items, including giant inflatable hands and a pill costume which he dons for the awesome "One Little Pill".

Up next are main support The Smith Street Band. Although hailing from the other side of the world, the band are from Melbourne (Australia), the following they have inside the room is huge.

"This song's about drinking Buckfast!" yells frontman Wil Wagner before they launch into the epic "Young Drunk", which resonates superbly around the Barrowlands.

A highlight of their set comes in the double hitter of "Shine" and "Surrender" which has the whole crowd clapping along.

They finish off with the wonderful "Throw Me In The River", which is about being dumped in London, and is dedicated to anyone who has been dumped in the UK.

Judging by tonight's performance, we expect to see The Smith Street band take on this venue in their own right very soon.

Coming onstage and immediately launching into "You Used To Say (Holy F**k)", you can tell that tonight's headliners The Front Bottoms mean business.

The crowd are in full voice from the very beginning and don't pause for breath for the entire set, at times even drowning out frontman Brian Sella.

We get an amazing rendition of the ever so catchy "West Virginia" which we'll still be singing for days, which to be honest is not a bad thing!

An 'Irn Bru' style version of The Front Bottoms logo appears on screens at either side of the stage which gets huge cheers from all present, before the band play "Peace Sign" complete with the crowd partaking in the relevant hand gestures to go along with the song.

A definite highlight of the evening comes when they play "Au Revoir (Adios)" and then immediately go into "The Beers", the latter a song about how a summer was spent taking steroids to impress a girl who likes a man with muscles.

The main set is closed with the massive "Twin Size Mattress" before Brian re appears for a solo run through of "Twelve Feet Deep" which even sees a lucky audience member being brought onstage to have a seat and watch from behind him. Things are then finished off with fan favourite "Skeleton" and "Ocean" before the crowd descend back out into the cold Scottish evening.

The Front Bottoms are an amazing live band, and one not to be missed!
