The opening band of the night were Victoria’s Flight. The band delivered a crowd pleasing set - incorporating complimentary guitar tones with a summery vibe. The band’s unique style made them stand out from the offset.

The second band of the night were Able Faces. The five piece successfully encompassed the 80’s era - complete with saxophone solos - whilst adding a folk pop twist with anthemic singalongs. Able Faces were a favourite amongst the crowd tonight.

Sea Girls entered the stage fully embracing Scottish culture....wielding a bottle of Buckfast. The opening song of the set grabbed the attention of the crowd instantly; they cheered and danced along becoming more enthusiastic as the set progressed. The band fed off of the positive reaction of the crowd, gaining confidence and joining the crowd jumping along to more lively aspects of their set. Front man Henry Camamile seemed quite overwhelmed at the audience’s encouraging response and continually thanked them for their support. The guitarist and bass player continued to feed off of one another; their excitement of the night abundantly clear.

Likened to bands such as Circa Waves and Blossoms, Sea Girls have that indie pop style that is so easy to like. Each member of the band had exceptional technical ability and were totally locked in with one another; making the performance more enjoyable. Camamile’s vocals were smooth and effortless and he admirably sung in his own accent. The band’s single “Lost” was a real crowd pleaser resulting in a singalong and a dance. They played a good mix of songs both old and new including fan favourite “Favourite Colour”.

There is no doubt that Sea Girls will continue to become more popular, possibly being seen on many of the main festival bills this summer. It is evident that this is only the beginning of this band’s career.
