★★★☆☆ [3.5/5]

Arriving to Think Tank Underground just after doors opening, I was stunned to see a queue of revellers outside the relatively small venue. After entering there was an excited vibe in the venue with mixture of young and old.

Starting to the night was Newcastle’s own Blood Sport; with their heavy sound they played a superb set, they were well-rehearsed, and their performance was on top form. I couldn’t believe it was only their second show! My favourite moment from their set was their rendition of ‘Made in America’ by The Fever 333, this was a pleasant surprise which made my night.

Up next was Scotland’s Vistas; performing a thirty-minute set which went down well with the growing audience. With their fast-paced tracks this got the crowd moving, with popular songs “Tigerblood” and “Retrospect” being performed. They sounded incredible and I hope to see them back in Newcastle very soon headlining their own show.

Finally, Bloxx! With their heavy riffs yet melodic sound the group had the venue filled. However, their set was ruined slightly due to low microphone levels from singer Fee. Her vocals were quiet but luckily the crowd knew all the lyrics to their song and were screaming them back to them. During their set they encouraged the audience to jump and to have a dance which in turn caused chaos with almost everyone jumping to their infectious sound.  Overall, I enjoyed their performance and hope for them to return very soon!
