Kicking off the night was a solo singer-songwriter known as Ten Tonnes. With indie and alternative influences, Ethan Barnett warmed up the crowd with his feel good tunes. After a short break, the second support act took to the stage. Having supported Ratboy many times before, fans were used to seeing Bad Sounds and were instantly buzzed. They brought a lot of energy to their performance and were definitely a well suited support, with the energy infecting the crowd too.

This energy only increased when Ratboy began to perform, shortly after. The crowd was insane, populated with mostly youngsters, with constant mosh pits and dancing. He played a good mix of his songs with both new and old ones, opening with one of his early singles ‘MOVE’. Featuring throughout the performance were crowd pleasers from his 2017 album “SCUM”, such as ‘LAIDBACK’ and ‘FAKE ID’ as well as new tracks from his most recent album “CIVIL DISORDER” which was released just last week.

Ratboy last made an appearance in Glasgow supporting Liam Gallagher, which I was lucky enough to see, however I can confidently say he was much better at headlining. He had the entire venue bouncing with his indie-rock, hip-hop infused songs. It was mental, in a great way.

I’d say my favourite song of the night would have to be ‘LEFT 4 DEAD’, another track from his 2017 album. Many people have noted that this track sounds like early Arctic Monkeys, and it can’t be denied, Ratboy definitely doesn’t hold back on his indie-rock side in this tune.

He smashed it.
