Scotland's newest and biggest music festival 'TRNSMT' kicked off with a bang today, as music fans took to a sun-drenched Glasgow Green park to enjoy sets from some of the world's biggest acts. The first ever act to play the Main Stage at TRNSMT was the upcoming and talented 'JP Cooper' who opened the proceedings early with a soulful performance in front of thousands of people.

Everything Everything were next to play their hits to the Main Stage and a huge Glasgow crowd with new tune ‘Can’t Do’ and finisher ‘Distant Past’ delighting the TRNSMT revelers.

Around 35,000 music fans enjoyed mass sing-a-longs with hit-maker Rag ‘N’ Bone Man whose smash single ‘Human’ echoed around the Glasgow Green site.

An atmospheric set by London Grammar became a transfixing highlight of day one as the crowd enjoyed an awe-inspiring performance on the Main Stage. London Grammar sang hits from their new record, including a stunning acapella version of ‘Rooting For You’ as the sun broke through the clouds and cheers erupted around Glasgow Green.

Meanwhile on the King Tut’s Powered by Utilita Stage, local bands The Vegan Leather and Be Charlotte got the party started early on. Louis Berry was fresh from performing at the Test Transmission gig in King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Thursday night.

As the fans continued to sweep into the new TRNSMT site, they were able to enjoy The Jack Rocks Stage featuring some incredible acts including local talent Moonlight Zoo and rockers The Phantoms. #SmirnoffHouse curated by Mixmag saw a sea of fans surround the DJs who played to the crowd with the sun beating down on the TRNSMTrevelers. VIP ticket holders were able to enjoy the exclusive VIP area, which also hosted bands including Carly Connor and The Imagineers.

Summer well and truly landed in Glasgow as the evening sun split the sky for indie heroes Belle and Sebastian who performed their biggest ever-Scottish show tonight on the Main Stage. A huge crowd enjoyed Belle and Sebastian classics including ‘Boy With the Arab Strap’ and in true Belles fashion, the band invited festival goers on stage for the iconic stage invasion. As fans danced in glee around the band in front of thousands of music fans, only one thing remained…

The iconic 2.5 hours set from the legendary, Radiohead was the talk of the town and as the band emerged onstage, TRNSMT fans were overcome with excitement.

Front man Thom Yorke had the crowd in the palm of his hand from 21:30 onwards, welcoming the Glasgow audience with a fixating smile. As the sun began to set on Glasgow Green and as the sky turned beautiful shades of pink behind the clouds, Radiohead pulled out all the stops playing an outstanding setlist of hits and classics including ‘Lucky’, ‘Everything in its Right Place’, ‘Reckoner’, ‘No Surprises’ and ‘ Fake Plastic Trees’.

As ‘Karma Police’ roared out into the TRNSMT festival crowd, huge sing-alongs from the Glasgow crowd bellowed around the Green with fans carrying the chorus into a euphoric state. As the epic 2.5 hour set came to a close, TRNSMT erupted with a closing fit for the truly iconic band headline band.

A joyous and relaxed vibe swept the Glasgow Green site today making it an incredible successful first showing for Scotland’s newest and biggest festival.
