After eight long years of song writing Lewis Capaldi, 20, releases his first debut single ‘Bruises’. The Scottish songwriter, begins his UK tour within days after this release. The tour begins in Aberdeen and he is set to play several shows in April and September.

The support acts were also both Scottish so the night had a great mix of Scottish talent. The accents were strong and heard within their singing, they used their accents to their advantage. The support acts Mark Collin and Jake Cameron both performed with acoustic guitars as did Lewis Capaldi. The venue was perfect as the acoustics sounded great and all focus was purely on the music. Many family members were out to support all three performers and they often made many comments apologizing for their friends and family.

In Aberdeen Lewis performed effortlessly and his voice was just as amazing as expected. No doubt the rest of his gigs will be to the same level meaning you are missing out if you are not attending any future gigs. His stage presence was something unique you could tell he was used to performing though he claimed he didn't have any “patter” in between songs.

The setlist wasn’t planned which made every song a surprise for us and himself. He was so flexible that he listened to the crowds demands and sang ‘Bruises’ his new single twice and both performances were perfect.

Lewis Capaldis largest audience yet has been 300 earlier this year and Lewis has been gigging since he was 12, collaborates on songs with writers who have worked with other Scottish talent including Paolo Nutini. He has said that his music is in the same style as Hozier, George Ezra and Paolo Nutini and with the release of his new single we completely agree.

Lewis Capaldi has a soft yet raw voice that still contains touches of his Scottish upbringing. The lyrics of his new single deals with heartache and the end of a long-term relationship it is such an honest and relatable song. With nearly 2 million listens on Spotify in only a week this song is a great hit. The crowd did not hide the love of this song as they sang the lyrics along with Lewis.
