Model Aeroplanes have released a string of singles that have seen them work their way into the nation’s pop scene. After only eight gigs the band were handpicked to perform at their first T in the Park in 2013 and have since been on an epic roller coaster of tours and festivals. This helped them gain fans from around the country very early on in their career. Model Aeroplanes are a Dundee based rock band. They have years of performing experience and have the potential to become one of Scotland's most exciting live acts. The members Ben Buist, Grant Irvine, Kieran Smith and Rory Fleming-Stewart.

The night opened with support from The Capollos. The Capollos are a young, exciting, award winning alternative rock band from Aberdeen, Scotland. Founded by twin brothers Kyle and Lloyd McDonald then later joined by Greg Adams and Brett Thain, They have already built an impressive following in their native NE of Scotland. Live, The Capollos are a ferocious force, with so much energy and gave an effortless vibe when performing. Bands that have influenced them are The Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Catfish & The Bottlemen and Oasis and you can clearly see this as they perform in similar ways.

The next support was the Island Club. They are a band forged around university hours in dingy student bed sits yet with the indie release of ‘Ecstasy’ the band have stamped their mark on their native Brighton. They are composed of Michael, David, Sam, Julien, and Barney, four of whom just graduated from BIMM, the band has already shown promise and received critical acclaim, despite having only released a few songs. The Island Club’s music is a mix of psychedelia, pop, dance, hints at various other genres. All songs are similar but with a different edge. The band had a great stage presence with great energy. They had a really unique vibe and the main singer was enjoying the crowd and dancing all over the stage.

Headliners Model Aeroplanes, formed eight years ago when the bandmates were in their early teens they were more than used to performing in front of a large crowd. The concert was a experience you can tell they enjoyed the performance throughout their tight, energetic and likeable set. They included new and old songs throughout their set which of course pleased the crowd. Collectively, they have the boy band looks, the ready banter and the personalities for commercial success. They were so excited to perform in Lemon Tree as it was their last tour date and Aberdeen “has always been good to us” so of course they knew it would be a great evening to finish off the tour.
