Picked by Dani Filth himself, Savage Messiah a London based band formed in 2007 were first out tonight, getting the crowd pumped and ready for the main act. The songs from their newest album "Hands of Fate" that was released on October 27th went down well with this hardcore metal crowd. Savage Messiah manage to create amazing guitar riffs, memorable choruses and some beautiful harmonies. If you haven't seen this band live then check them out on their next tour.

It's not often you get to see crowd surfing and a mosh pit down the front of a church but tonight's main act Cradle of Filth provided all that and more. Before the doors opened, the queue snaked around the building and down the street, an excited buzz filling the room.  Cradle of Filth stormed the stage, ready to entertain the sold-out venue of hardcore fans with a 13-song set compromising of a whole back catalogue of songs. Since 1991, Cradle of Filth have been consistently growing their fan base to become one of the biggest heavy metal bands in the UK playing every major festival around. Tonight's crowd were charged and ready to see Dani Filth and the band command the stage and whole venue with a self-assured performance that comes from a dominance of the genre.

First up was the superb "Gilded Cunt' from their 6th album Nymphetamine. Coming out to a blood red lit stage seemed fitting, although the stunning stained-glass windows that create the backdrop of the venue 'Church' in Leeds tonight seems an odd choice for this band, for me, I think it's perfect. The grandeur of the stage and the alternative background just added to the theatrics of the evening. The stage technicians worked hard tonight with smoke and an impressive light show drawing your eyes across the whole stage and allowing each member to take the spotlight and feel the scream of the crowd.

"Born in a burial gown" ended the encore part of the evening with cheers and applause from the adoring fans hoping they were going to play on all evening. Cradle of Filth are THE band to see live and absolutely worth standing in the freezing cold on Bonfire Night in the centre of Leeds for.
