Crowbar, a song by Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes on Spotify

Ex-Gallows frontman Frank Carter has made a career out of keeping himself busy, whether it being a sought after tattoo artist or destroying a stage near you with his band The Rattlesnakes. The good news for all fans of the latter is that the musical productivity hasn’t slowed down one bit.

As premiered by Annie Mac as her Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1, ‘Crowbar’ is the explosive lead single from The Rattlesnakes’ third full length effort End of Suffering, which is out on the 3rd of May on their own imprint International Death Cult. As a track it strikes a balance between the sounds of their hardcore punk first album Blossom and the more alternative infused follow up Modern Ruin rather nicely. Carter punctuates his unmistakable vocal tones over sultry guitar lines, addressing the gloom of modern life through some moderately bitter libretto - “from nothing into all and then the next thing to arrive/is the terrifying fear of how you're supposed to live your life” - before unveiling a belter of a chorus that more than lives up to The Rattlesnakes’ lofty standards. It only clocks in at just under two and a half minutes: but in true Rattlesnakes fashion ‘Crowbar’ will lay out all your auditory senses before you, and systematically crush them before your eyes in a blaze of fiery and passionate rock ‘n’ roll.

And there’s good news for those after a taste of the Rattlesnakes’ frantic live shows - the band have announced a small tour to prelude the album of intimate venues all around the UK. The bad news is many of the shows have already sold out but fear not - they’ll surely be back for a larger scale tour later this year.
