In the heart of Edinburgh with the backdrop of Scottish sunshine and the incredible Edinburgh Castle, one of the most influential showmen in music history, dressed in a tartan jacket, Sir Tom Jones opened the first ever Edinburgh Summer Sessions Festival tonight.

Getting the festival well and truly underway, the sold-out crowd enjoyed the ever-entertaining superstar’s performance of timeless classics and covers such as “Mama Told Me (Not To Come)’, ‘Sex Bomb’, ‘Ring of Fire’, ‘What’s New Pussycat?’, ‘It’s Not Unusual’, ‘You Can Leave Your Hat on’ and many more, to an enthralled sold-out capital crowd.

Still to come - indie-rockers Bastille + Special Guests The Vaccines will take to the beautiful Princes Street Garden stage on 9th August plus Rag’N’Bone Man, Paloma Faith, Kasabian and Brian Wilson all starring in the Edinburgh Summer Sessions line-up, the city is in for a truly phenomenal two weeks of music alongside an already electric atmosphere for the Edinburgh Fringe.
