Music fans from all over the UK and beyond flocked to the idyllic Perth countryside, in the shadows of Scone Palace, to relive another day of 80’s music nostalgia in the glorious sunshine. The crowd of young and old were ready to party, and Rewind Festival was the place to be!
Opening Sunday were brothers Pat and Greg Kane (otherwise known as Hue And Cry) with a set littered with classic pop from the 80s, including the hits 'Labour of Love', 'Ordinary Angel' and 'Looking for Linda'. Some delightful piano from Greg while Pat showed the power in his voice to carry the tunes wonderfully. A very talented duo, and a fabulous start to a gloriously sunny day.

Coventry’s Two Tone Ska band The Selecter were up next to get the crowd moving, with singer Pauline Black in fine voice. 'Three Minute Hero', 'Missing Words' and 'On My Radio' were some of the hits performed to get the crowd moonstomping!

Irish rockers The Boomtown Rats, fronted by Bob Geldof were next on stage to strut their stuff. Classics like 'Like Clockwork', 'She’s So Modern', 'Rat Trap' and the anthem 'I Don’t Like Mondays' wowed the crowd and showed Geldof and his band still have what it takes. Birmingham based reggae kings UB40 were up after The Rats to entertain the crowd with their epic hits 'Red Red Wine', 'Kingston Town' and C'an't Help Falling In Love', which was very apt as next to take the stage were Caroline Brown and her partner Christine Mowbray from Fife. Caroline proposed in front of the crowd and Christine said yes! Fabulous, congratulations to them both.
Imagination got the music going again with classic 80's numbers including 'Body Talk' and 'Just an Illusion'. Great stuff from front man Lee John, whose voice has stood the test of time.

Transvision Vamp’s Wendy James had her turn to get the crowd singing as she belted out her classics 'I Want Your Love' and 'Baby I Don’t Care' before Mike Score and Flock Of Seagulls took us on a trip back in time with 'Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You)' and 'I Ran (So Far Away)'. Great stuff, timeless classics from the 80's.

Evening was setting in on Rewind, and next to take the stage were Sheffield’s Heaven 17, featuring Glenn Gregory on vocals and Martyn Ware on keyboards. Opening with 'We Don’t Need This Fascist Groove Thang', they followed on with a terrific cover of David Bowie’s 'Let's Dance' before going back to their own catalogue with 1983’s 'Come Live With Me' and the classic Temptation.
Terrific stuff from the new wave band, who had the crowd whipped to a frenzy before Scotland’s Midge Ure showed us why he is a legend in British music. A member of bands such as Slik, The Rich Kids, Thin Lizzy and Visage, he is more well known as frontman of electro pop kings Ultravox. He started things off with the bands 1982 hit 'Hymn' before his rendition of a song he wrote but never recorded, Visage’s 1981 hit single 'Fade To Grey', absolutely brilliant stuff. 'Dancing With Tears In My Eyes' and the classic 'Vienna' brought Midge’s set to an end, before the Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler took to the stage, with hits such as 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain', 'It’s a Heartache' but the crowd were only waiting for 'Total Eclipse of The Heart'.
And now as Rewind Scotland 2018 neared its end, it was left to veteran rockers Status Quo to wow the crowd one last time. Storming onto the stage with the anthem 'Caroline', they also showed the years may have ran away but the power chords can still hit the spot. 'Something Bout You Baby I Like', 'Rain' and their anthem 'Rocking All Over the World' gave the crowd one last boogie before it was time to pack it up for another year.
