LIDO Festival, the newest addition to London's summer calendar, is coming to Victoria Park in June 2025. Today, we proudly announce our inaugural headliner for Saturday 7 June: Jamie xx. He will be joined by a specially curated line-up featuring In Waves collaborators Romy, Panda Bear, and John Glacier, alongside acclaimed artists Arca, Sampha, DJ Gigola, Shy One, Wookie, and livwutang. Adding to the bill, Jamie brings his celebrated club residency 'The Floor' to Victoria Park for a one-off festival showcase featuring a 3-hour set from DJ Harvey. Tickets go on general sale on Friday 1 November.
Named after Victoria Park’s historic Lido Field, this two-weekend festival will feature carefully curated music line-ups alongside community-driven activities during the week, all with a strong emphasis on sustainability. LIDO will showcase the most current headliners and work closely with them to curate the line ups, reflecting their musical influence.
LIDO welcomes now East London local Jamie xx as the first headliner for 2025. A forward-thinking beatmaker and producer, Jamie xx significantly influenced the sound of the late 2000s and beyond. Known for his work with The xx and his solo dance projects. Whether on record or djing live, Jamie expertly blends a kaleidoscope of genres, finding an emotional quality within the music that underpins and unites dancefloors worldwide.
Jamie xx says:
“It’s always an exciting prospect playing in my home town. Having done The Floor and Alexandra Palace this year, it’s time for something else! I’m really looking forward to headlining Victoria Park, curating my own day festival and performing alongside my favourite artists.”
Jamie xx is a British composer, performer, music producer, artist, and is one of three members of The xx. In 2015 he released his GRAMMY, Brit, Ivor Novello, and Mercury Music Prize-nominated debut solo album In Colour on Young. On September 20, 2024, nine years on from the release of his globally revered debut album, Jamie returned to release his sophomore album In Waves. Across the album, Jamie xx replicates the emotional crescendos and thrilling volatility of an almost mystical night out alongside a cast of collaborators that include Robyn, Kelsey Lu, Honey Dijon, The Avalanches, John Glacier and Panda Bear, Oona Doherty and his The xx bandmates Romy and Oliver Sim. Jamie has toured widely, both as a member of The xx and a solo artist, his appearances range from small two hundred capacity underground club nights to sold-out arenas and headline slots at major festivals around the world. His euphoric and dynamic live sets have made him one of the most in-demand musician’s and DJ in the world. Next summer, LIDO Festival will be one of the first opportunities to experience his latest critically acclaimed work live in the UK.
For this show only, LIDO Festival will feature a unique stage called 'The Floor', headlined by DJ Harvey. Inspired by Jamie xx’s celebrated series of intimate club residencies (“euphoric, sweat-soaked” - The FACE), Jamie will bring unannounced guests and a custom sound system into an intimate setting within Victoria Park. The Floor started as a huge 10-day residency at Venue MOT in South London, featuring surprise appearances from Charli XCX and George Daniel, Daphni, 2ManyDJs, Jockstrap, DJ Python and more. It has since expanded to the US with five consecutive nights in New York and another residency in LA. LIDO is fans' only chance to experience Jamie xx’s bespoke dance space next Summer.
Arca is one of the world’s most transformative musical talents. Since breaking through with her 2012 EPs Stretch 1 and Stretch 2, she’s created an unprecedented body of work drawing from club music, experimental noise, and the ballad tradition of her native Venezuela, while reaching beyond music to encompass performance, visual art, and technology. As a collaborator with Björk and FKA twigs, she stretched contemporary music’s sonic boundaries and helped set the sound of her era. As a Latinx nonbinary trans woman, Arca has redefined the role of the diva for a new generation. Her latest works KiCk i to kiCK iiiii, each came with its own musical and emotional theme. After a hiatus, Arca joined forces with Tokischa on a new collaborative single, ‘Chama,’ which was released alongside an iconic music video directed by STILLZ.
From UK breakout star to global icon, Sampha has left an indelible mark on contemporary culture. The south London singer, songwriter, and producer boasts a career marked by era-defining records like the breakthrough Dual EP (2013), Mercury Music Prize-winning debut album Process (2017) and Lahai (2023), which landed No.1 on the UK R&B Albums Chart. He’s equally known for collaborations with artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Stormzy, Drake, Solange, Frank Ocean, and Alicia Keys.
Romy Madley Croft first came to prominence as the singer and guitarist of The xx, alongside fellow artists on this bill Jamie xx and Oliver Sim. Performing as Romy, she has established a hugely successful solo-career as a dance musci producer capable of shaking rafters and raising roofs. Her debut solo-album Mid Air was released to critical acclaim last year, led by the euphoric single ‘Enjoy Your Life’ and the soothing ‘The Sea’. Romy brings her euphoric energy to LIDO with music designed to affirm life and bring joy.
Another artist featured on Jamie xx’s In Waves, Panda Bear of Animal Collective (AKA Noah Lennox) makes music of self-harmony, orchestral boy-loops, and in latter years, an irresistible pull towards the future. There is a unique Panda method within the dense weave of melody within every Panda Bear release, leaving the listener in a state of perfect hypnosis. Out in February, Sinister Grift, Panda Bear’s first solo album in five years, sees Noah Lennox return with another statement that feels equally cumulative and unprecedented in his catalogue.
DJ Harvey, dubbed “the Keith Richards of dance music” by Rolling Stone is known as your favourite DJ's favourite DJ. Famous for his eclectic style and raw energy, Harvey has toured the world, releasing music under monikers like Locussolus, while remixing artists from The Police to Liquid Liquid. For LIDO, DJ Harvey is putting on a 3 hour set at ‘The Floor’ stage, so strap in.
Starting out as the London underground's best-kept secret, John Glacier is an experimental producer, hiphop artist, rapper and poet who, on her debut EP Shiloh: Lost for Words (2021), introduced het trademark blend of rap, punk and electro. 2024 saw the release of two more EP's, Like A Ribbon and Duppy Gun, with a sold out debut artist headline show at London’s the ICA. Sitting somewhere between rap and spoken word, Clash magazine calls her “a true originator”.
Where others see tension and contradiction, DJ Gigola sees a chance for creation. Her critically acclaimed cutting edge releases take a hybrid approach, successfully blending boundaries between Dance and Pop music. With a deep understanding for rhythm and groove, quintessentially genre-fluid sets and productions, combined with her multi-facetted knowledge of music and curious audacity to try new things, DJ Gigola is one of the most exciting DJs to experience on a dance floor.
London-born DJ and producer Shy One (AKA Mali Larrington-Nelson) is known for her eclectic sound, blending grime, hip-hop, jazz, and broken beat. She gained early recognition from Scratcha DVA, releasing her debut EP Decaffeinated Love and LP Bedknobs and Boomkicks. Shy One has since built an impressive career with acclaimed projects on Eglo Records and sets at renowned venues like Panorama Bar and Glastonbury. Her work includes collaborations with artists like Nubya Garcia, and she continues to push boundaries in music, performance, and multimedia art.
Wookie (AKA Jason Chue), widely regarded as a founding figure in UK Garage, is known for classics like ‘Battle’ and his remix of Sia’s ‘Little Man’. His influential sound has shaped modern electronic music, inspiring artists like Disclosure and Rudimental. After a brief hiatus, Wookie returned with remixes for Jessie J, Usher, and more, and has since released tracks featuring artists like Eliza Doolittle and Zak Abel.
livwutang is a genre-blending DJ whose percussive sets draw from her diverse musical upbringing and rave roots in Seattle’s DIY scene. Now based in New York, she’s played renowned venues like Panorama Bar and Nowadays, gaining recognition for her seamless mix of house, R&B, and tech-house.
Beyond the music, LIDO is committed to making a positive impact on the local community. A key part of this commitment is LIDO’s ongoing partnership with East London Arts and Music (ELAM), providing students with hands-on experience in the creative industry including offering students the chance to perform, as well as vocational opportunities in festival production, technology, and the wider music industry.
As a new festival in Tower Hamlets, LIDO will bring substantial benefits to the local area, including improvements to the park itself. Echoing the success of AEG’s neighbouring East London festival, All Points East, which contributes over £45 million to the local economy each year, LIDO will similarly engage local suppliers, employ local staff, and boost local spending on accommodation, food, and entertainment. The festival’s midweek programme will also provide free, high-quality arts, culture and wellbeing activities, offering a platform for local talent to shine and enriching the area’s cultural landscape.
With the full line-up coming soon, LIDO will showcase the most current headliners and work closely with them to curate the line ups, reflecting their musical influences and passions, with a strong focus on emerging artists. LIDO is dedicated to supporting the growth of music in the UK, providing a platform that not only celebrates today's talent but also inspires and nurtures the next generation of headliners, all in a responsible and sustainable way.
LIDO firmly believes that the future of live music and festivals should be a sustainable one. From the outset, LIDO will implement and then continually develop sustainable policies and processes ranging from how we power the festival and manage waste disposal through to partnering with local food vendors to ensure maximum efficiency, simplify, strengthen, and minimise the impact in our supply chains and our community. LIDO will hold themselves to account and maximise every sustainable opportunity available to the event.
