IAN BROWN PULLS OUT OF TRNSMT FESTIVAL 2021 WITH THE SNUTS BEING ADDED TO THE LINE-UP

The Stone Roses frontman, 58, was due to play on main stage on the Friday during the Glasgow festival in September.

IAN BROWN has pulled out of TRNSMT as a headliner this year and will no longer play at the festival.

The Stone Roses frontman, 58, was due to play on the main stage on the Friday during the Glasgow festival which will be held in September.

TRNSMT FESTIVAL bosses today confirmed the singer will not be playing as headliner and will be replaced on the bill by The Snuts.

The rescheduled festival will run across three days in from September 10 to 12 with up to 50,000 people to gather in city centre park.

Festival bosses took to Twitter to confirm the news with the updated line-up, which also includes Liam Gallagher, Sam Fender, The Courteneers, Primal Scream and the Chemical Brothers.

Scottish band The Snuts will takeover on Friday September 10, as thousands of fans will gather after TRNSMT was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

Ian Brown caused controversy last year with his opinion on the Covid-19 vaccine after he said he would refuse to perform to a crowd required to be jabbed.

“Experimental rushed and flawed, sold to us by the self-same devious creeps and liars who stand to share trillions.”

TRNSMT fans had even called for the indie rocker to be removed from the festival over his bold 'anti-vax' statements.

However, the reason for his withdrawal from TRNSMT is not yet known.

It comes as festival bosses encouraged revellers to get the vaccine and test before descending on Glasgow Green.

DF Concerts boss Geoff Ellis has even suggested that the festival could host a vaccination bus on site to encourage those who haven't had their jab to get one.
