Local band ‘BARE ROOTS’ gear up to perform at the Virgin Money Unity Arena supporting THE HUNNA.

The North East has led the way in bringing live music back to the masses, thanks to the world's first socially distanced Virgin Money Unity Arena at Gosforth Park.

So far the socially distanced venue, which can accommodate up to 2,500 music fans, has successfully hosted Sam Fender, Two Door Cinema Club, Patrick Topping, The Libertines, Van Morrison and has conjured up quite a storm among music press across the globe, with coverage reaching as far as CNN and Fox News across the pond.

Gearing up for their first show since lockdown and biggest show to date is local indie rock band BARE ROOTS, who according to their announcements are claiming to be using the opportunity to pull out all of stops.

“We’re so proud of the North East for being trailblazers in regards to bringing live music back for music fans! To have been asked to perform when we’ve only been playing live together for just over a year is crazy! We’re gonna make the most of the opportunity and hopefully put on a great show for people who may not have seen any live music this year! - Anthony Francis

Hailing from the working-class suburbs of Newcastle upon Tyne (UK), BARE ROOTS combine 80s soundscapes with 90s soulful rock and roll.

The band was formed by school mates Anthony Francis (vocals, guitar)Joe Anderson (bass) and Martin Corkhill (drums) who later joined forces with Ollie Petrie (guitar).

Drawing on influences from bands like Pearl Jam and The War On Drugs, the band is swiftly establishing itself as hot property in the region.

You can catch The Hunna with Jaws & BARE ROOTS on September 14th at The Virgin Money Unity Arena, Gosforth Park.
