Post-hardcore favourites The Used have regrettably announced that their forthcoming UK and European tour dates and Slam Dunk Festival appearances this May have been cancelled.

The band shared the news via their socials, explaining that the reason for the cancellation revolves around a soon-to-be-disclosed opportunity that has been presented to them that they “absolutely couldn’t turn down.”

You can check out their full statement below.

“We are very sorry to announce that we will not be able to come to the UK and Europe in May/June. An opportunity has arisen for The Used that we absolutely couldn’t turn down. (Big news update to be revealed ASAP!) We apologize to all our fans who already made plans to see us and we promise to make it up to you very very soon. In the meantime, if you’re heading to Slam Dunk – have a great time – it’s a killer line up and any tickets for our headline shows are refundable at point of purchase.”

Fans are already beginning to speculate that the news is that The Used will be supporting My Chemical Romance throughout the majority of their reunion tour, but more details will be unveiled as they develop.

At the time of writing, there’s no word from The Used on plans to reschedule these shows, and there’s also been no response on ticket refund queries. However, it’s assumed all dates (excluding Slam Dunk Festival) can be refunded at the point of sale.

The tour’s support act Movements haven’t announced if they’ll be rescheduling dates for themselves, but their appearances at Slam Dunk Festival are still set to go ahead.
