Sun-kissed concertgoers streamed through Victoria Park towards the All Points East Festival to see a lineup that would show off some of the best in soulful R&B-infused dance pop. Headlined by producer Kaytranada, today’s support featured a selection of longtime collaborators and favourites.

Throughout, the day provided a constant flow of attention-grabbing acts across the 8 stages available. These included artists from huge headliners to emerging acts.

Thundercat delivered funk laden R&B from his bass-driven set. The sun-filled east stage highlighted the grooves in each track.

Across the grounds on the West stage, TSHA b2b KILIMANJARO played an undeniable DJ set which brought rave-like energy to the outdoor venue.

At the CUPRA North Arena, east London rapper Lancey Foux played one of the most electric sets of the day. The atmospheric production and stage presence made Foux every bit a rockstar as he filled the tent with revellers, flows and thudding beats.

Durand Bernarr played to one of the largest crowds seen on the L’Oréal Paris Stage. Resplendent in a blue trench-coat, Bernarr dazzled with velvety vocals.

All Points East always makes a great staging ground for new and upcoming talent across its various stages. The Amex Unsigned stage proves this is still the case. Whether the wistful heartfelt ballads of Tyler Lewis or the emotional rap of Rian Brazil there is always a future favourite to discover.

Two of the most anticipated support acts came from the stylings of Victoria Monét and Tems as they played on the east and west stage respectively.

Victoria Monét played to thousands on the East stage as she displayed her R&B masterclass which takes inspiration from decades of performers and crystallised it into new artistry. Her vocals sounded flawless, even as she danced across the stages while flanked by her backing dancers.

Jyoty filled the CUPRA arena with a DJ set which covered a swathe of fan pleasing tracks which celebrated decades of R&B. The audience watching swelled throughout, to the point the crowd stood outside of the tent to hear the set.

Nigerian megastar Tems utterly claimed the west stage with a powerful set. Weaving her old and new music every song could have been a set closer. She commanded the stage and assembled the audience, with her powerful vocals and impeccable songs.

With the last support acts closing their respective stages, the lights dimmed on the main east stage to announce the start of headliner Kaytranada.

The packed audience was ecstatic as, emerging to the brass-filled “Pressure”, Kaytranada showed why he is one of the biggest names in the scene.

Delivering hit after hit, the set spanned a selection of upbeat tracks to which the audience were very receptive. From the stage, Kaytranada did a great job of making his presence known via crowd interaction.

Throughout, the staging helped create an atmospheric scene which helped to make the huge site of Victoria Park feel like an intimate boiler room set.

Closing the first day of All Points East 2024, it once again shows the strength of the festival. Bringing together star-studded lineups beneath the summer sky in east London.

During the entire day, fans seemed delighted with the performers. As the assembled thousands made their way home there were few faces that weren’t beaming from the glow of a long, happy, day.
