The lights go down in the ever filling O2 Academy as tonights support Emily Wolfe takes to the stage.

Opening with "Violent Veins", it's immediately apparent why she has been picked for this tour - her rock sound is absolutely huge from the first note!

A highlight of the set comes in the laid back "Rock Bottom on a High Wire", but it's not long before things are stepped back up again with the superb "Walk In My Shoes" with it's huge Muse-esque riffs which would not be out of place in a stadium.

Finishing with a raucous "Holy Roller" keeps the energy flowing, and the crowd are well and truly warmed up for tonight's headliner.

Lita Ford's "Kiss Me Deadly" plays over the speakers as The Gaslight Anthem bound on to the stage and go straight in to "I Live In The Room Above Her" from their recently released album "History Books".

We get an amazing rendition of "Biloxi Parish" with the band sounding as tight as ever.

Frontman Brian Fallon is on great form, bantering with the crowd throughout their set.

Highlights of the evening come in "Blue Dahlia" and "Old Haunts" - both of which have the sold out venue in full voice.

Emily Wolfe is back on stage for "The Weatherman" and "Blue Jeans & White T Shirts" before receiving a huge applause from the room.

We get the superb "Mulholland Drive" and "Mae" before Brian tells the room about a great book to read if you have nothing to do and feel like ruining your life... "The Virgin Suicides" - this then leads in to "Michigan, 1975" which is written about the book.

The evening is then closed off with "45", "The '59 Sound" (which sends the place in to an absolute frenzy), "The Backseat" and "We're Getting a Divorce, You Keep the Diner".

The Gaslight Anthem are an amazing live band, and one you should definitely go to see if you have the chance!
