RAG 'N' BONEMAN // O2 ACADEMY, GLASGOW

RAG ‘N’ BONEMAN LIVE AT GLASGOW’S O2 ACADEMY

★★★★☆ (4/5)

Rag’n’Bone Man returned to the O2 Academy Glasgow last night, and what a show it was. Touring in support of his latest album, Who Do You Believe In, the singer delivered a performance that will linger in the minds of fans for a long time. His deep, soulful voice filled the historic venue with raw emotion, proving once again why he’s one of the most distinctive artists in music today.

The evening kicked off with several tracks from his new album, which delves into themes of identity, resilience, and self-reflection. Standouts included Better Days and the hauntingly beautiful Who Do You Believe In, both of which showcased his incredible vocal range. The crowd listened intently, drawn in by the power of his delivery and the honesty in his lyrics.

Rag’n’Bone Man didn’t disappoint when it came to fan favourites either. Human, his breakout hit, had the audience singing along at full volume, creating an electric atmosphere. Lovers in a Past Life brought another energetic moment to the evening, with most on their feet for the hit by the singer and Calvin Harris. To close the night, he performed Giants, a soaring anthem that left everyone on a high.

The O2 Academy provided an intimate setting for such a powerful performance, but it wasn’t without its drawbacks. Fans seated in the balcony had a less-than-ideal experience due to the cramped conditions. The legroom was almost non-existent, making it uncomfortable to sit through the two-hour set. It’s a shame because a venue of this calibre should ensure all fans can enjoy the show without distraction.

However, the discomfort of the seating was quickly overshadowed by the sheer talent on stage. Backed by a skilled band, Rag’n’Bone Man effortlessly moved between soulful ballads and upbeat tracks, engaging the crowd with his charisma and humility. He spoke warmly to the audience throughout the night, sharing anecdotes and expressing his gratitude for their support.

The production was understated but effective, with moody lighting and a simple backdrop allowing the music to take centre stage. This stripped-back approach suited Rag’n’Bone Man’s style perfectly, emphasising the raw power of his voice and the emotional depth of his songs.

Overall, this was a truly memorable performance that showcased the best of Rag’n’Bone Man. While the seating in the balcony left something to be desired, the show itself was outstanding. His ability to connect with his audience and deliver songs with such honesty and passion is what makes him a standout artist.

As fans poured out of the venue, there was a buzz of excitement and appreciation in the air. Rag’n’Bone Man once again proved that he’s not just a singer but a storyteller, and his music continues to resonate deeply with audiences everywhere. If you have the chance to see him live, don’t hesitate—it’s an experience you won’t forget.
