Public Service Broadcasting bring their light spectacular soundscape to Brighton Dome!

With the visuals of aviation and imagination of pioneering flights across the Atlantic ‘Public Service Broadcasting’ immerses the audience with a spectacular experience with influences from Amelia Earthart’s fateful last round the world flight together with driving hypnotic rhythms!  Public Service Broadcasting is an art rock and indie-electronica project initially conceived  by J. Willgoose Esq. in south London in 2009. Originally a solo outfit,’ Public Service Broadcasting’ eventually expanded to include the talents of drummer and percussionist Wrigglesworth, multi-instrumentalist J.F. Abraham. More recently the band Featured guest appearances by Andreya Casablanca, known as the Berlin based Indie Duo ‘Gurr’. For this latest  tour German -Norwegian artist EERA joins on stage to provide backing vocals and keyboards!

Back in October ‘Public Service Broadcasting’ released their fifth Studio album ‘The Last Flight’ and PSB have now embarked on a 12 date tour through the UK to showcase their one-of-a-kind progressive electronic extravaganza together with spoken word information film samples to the delight of the dedicated fans!

Tonight’s  support comes from ‘Halo Maud’, a French Songwriter who has ha collaborations in the past with ‘the Chemical Brothers’ and  Greg Saunier from ‘Deerhoof ‘. She has recently released the album ‘Celebrate’ on Heavenly Recordings record label. With reminiscence to ‘Slowdive’, the delightfully, heavy bass sounds captivates the audience with some spoken lyrics in both French and English.  The song ‘Terres Infinies’ is a very catchy electronic, psychedelic fusion, which could be taken straight from a 90’s ‘Stereolab’ album! ‘Halo Maud’ closes her melodic French pop blend with a dreamy ‘Pesnopoïka’ and through’s in shifting guitar solo to make way for ‘Public Service Broadcasting’ to come on stage!.

As with the ‘Public Service Broadcasting’ tradition the chimes of a intro taken from David Bowie’s ‘Sound and Vision’ fills the darked Brighton Dome with a cheering audience.  Tonight’s  eight-piece line-up consists with, EERA on keys, and a brass section comprising of saxophonist John ‘Rittipo’ Moore, trumpeter Toby Street and trombonist Barnaby Philpott made their way onto the stage, wearing a mixture of suit and tweed  attire as per the PSB fashion. The sound is immersive and powerful, putting everyone in the co-pilot seat, flying through Tropical storms and the endless Arabian desert right from the word ‘go’. With dramatic emotion PSP certainly brings everyone out of their comfort zone! The energy is high with ‘The Other Side’ the ‘Apollo 8’ intense mission control sequences which resembles the spirit of the 60’s space missions closely. The visuals are stunning and can not be matched by any other Rock band!  Willgoose Esq. explains to the Audience,  ‘’..this is getting a bit out of hand’, as two space men dance across the stage to ‘Garian’ taken from the songs music video and the Brass players take full reign. As the evening comes to a breathtaking close,  Willgoose introduces the band and thanks the audience with one more best loved song ‘Everest’, packed with a powerful  bringing this unique experience to entertaining and an unforgettable entailing evening at the Dome!
