It’s the first night of The UK & Europe leg of Welcome To The DCC tour and what better place to start it than right here in Glasgow! With the show being sold-out it’s no surprise that the room is full to the brim with gig goers making it extra hot and sweaty.

As the intro began and solid red lighting flooded the stage, the crowd roared and cheered as the lads appeared in front of them. Starting off strong with the first song of the night “Welcome to the DCC” as it rang through the speakers introducing us to the Dead Club City tour. With this being my first time seeing a Nothing But Thieves headline show, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I can confirm I was not disappointed! Lead singer Conor’s voice is mesmerizing, and I am so amazed at the huge vocal range. Not only are Conor’s vocals very impressive, but the whole production was also very cool and interesting with an electronic screen showing cool animations and graphics throughout.

The setlist was a perfect mix of some old tunes including “Real Love Song”, “Sorry” and “Trip Switch” mixed in with their newer tunes from their recently released album Dead Club City including “City Haunts”, “Do You Love Me Yet?” and “Green Eyes :: Siena”. The crowd were definitely pleased with their chosen set list as the sound of them singing could be heard over the band multiple times and seeing them bounce around to each song as lead singer Conor called us a “rowdy bunch of c*nts” and said it was good to see mosh pits happening as that’s not something they saw in America, having just finished touring over there. Of Course, it wouldn’t be a Glasgow show if a “Here We F*cking Go” chant wasn’t booming through the crowd at some point during the show.

The end of the night was almost upon us, and it was time for the band to bring their set to a close. The lights went dark and the band left stage, leaving the crowd waiting in anticipation as they began their usual “One more tune” chant clearly stating that they were not ready for the show to end. Out the band came once more to play the final songs of their set that was none other than two of their most popular hits “Amsterdam” and of course “Overcome” (which is another new release).  I would highly recommend you catch one of their shows on this tour, you will not be disappointed!
