With The Hu breathing new life in with their biggest feel-good story in Rock N’ Roll. Even before their release of their captivating debut album ‘The Gereg’ the Mongolians were a big internet sensation getting millions of hits across YouTube and social media! Blending rock and metal elements with traditional Mongolian instruments and their art of throat singing, they captivated fans across Europe.

The Hu was originally formed in 2016 and became the first UNESCO Artist for peace are inspired by The Hunnu and ancient Mongol empire and the Crowd at the Roundhouse were made up from a wealth of age groups and nationalities for tonight’s special event, even some friendly Mongolians proudly carrying their native banner!

Support comes from ‘King Nun’’ sporting some high Energy, heavy alt-rock, getting a rousing cheer from the audience, are very suited for this big tour. The band had released their impressive debut LP back in 2019 and the four peace band from London supplied limitless passion and energy and their certainly entertained the crowds and mesmerised them too!

Right on queue with some cinematic effects, ‘The Hu’ kicked off with ‘Shihi Hutu’ from their latest album ‘Rumble of Thunder’ with a thundering volley of drums and the guttural’s are unleashed and the music has the crowd cheering. The lead vocals are harmonised by the rest of the band. From The almost hypnotic feel is carried on with ‘Shoog Shoog’ taken from the first album.

Growing up The Hu came to love hard rock and metal with the likes of Metallica, Led Zeppelin and AC/DC and with the authentic instrumentation at the Mongolian State Conservatory and have certainly broad appeal amongst all age groups.

Throughout the evening the evident chant ‘Hu Hu Hu’ is apparent and heard amongst the fans as lead singer ‘Gala’ raises his hands in tune to the traditional instruments.

As the night is wrapped up with a Metallica cover, ’Sad but True’. Gala had showed real showmanship and most of the night he rhythmically gestures and reinforces connection to the rest of the band members to great this authentic sound.
