Taking to the stage first was Polly Money, a singer/songwriter from London who has a very cool and chilled vibe. Taking to the stage with her snapback cap, guitar and big smiles, she was a perfect support act with her melodic pop tracks. Her latest single “TWNTYS” is definitely worth checking out!

Next up were Club Paradise, an indie-rock band made up of four Geordie lads who were excellent! It’s the first time I’ve heard of them and I think they have a bright future! Their lead singer, Ryan put so much passion and heart into every song and that rubbed off on the crowd. They have a busy gig schedule so get down to one of their shows and see what they’re about. Their tracks “Closer” and their debut single “Brother” are well worth a listen!

Now onto the main act of the evening, APRE. A band I’ve been eagerly wanting to see since I started listening to them last year. Originally from London, the four pieced indie band were in awe of the full house that greeted them as they walked on stage. Lead singer Charlie Brown came on in a very nice jacket, which he didn’t keep on for long!

They opened their set with “Go Somewhere” followed by their biggest hit “All Yours”, which really set the tone for the rest of the night as it sparked madness in the crowd. It was announced that it was the bass guitarist, Stephen’s birthday and there were calls for Stephen throughout the rest of night which caused a few smiles and jokes from Charlie and the rest of the band.

Following the birthday announcement, they played their latest release “Your Heart’s Like A Jungle” and it’s a track that is full of energy and is great to hear live. One of my personal favourites “5 of 5” was as good live as I expected with the chorus being belted out by both Charlie and I.

The vibrant energy of the gig was paused for the song U/Me, which allowed the band and the crowd to regroup and taking a moment to chill before pressing on to some more upbeat songs. A nice touch! When Charlie gave a shout out to all of the FIFA 20 fans, you knew exactly which song was about to be played, “Come Down”. It is featured on their EA’s latest game and was a popular choice! Everyone in the room had their arms in the air singing the song back to Charlie.

The night ended with “Without Your Love” and “Dreamworld”, which was a perfect ending to Valentine’s Day.
