★★★★★ (5/5)

Maren Larae Morris is an American country music singer, songwriter, and record producer. She has released four studio albums. Morris was born in Arlington and is on tour for her latest album ‘GIRL’.

She performed at the Royal Albert Hall presented by the Country 2 Country. With support from Racheal Lynn Woodward is known as RaeLynn, an American singer and songwriter who was a contestant on The Voice in 2012. The night consisted of two powerful talented women performing on the stage. The crowd was a large mix of all ages and many wearing previous Country 2 Country tour t-shirts or plaid tops and country boots. It was clearly a country loving crowd.

RaeLynn opened the evening with songs that ranged from being about ex-boyfriend to ones about the small town she is from. Her lyrics were so unique and very true to herself meaning the crowd loved it and was able to relate with her through every lyric. She is a true country girl although she had left her truck at home and picked up some glittery boots for the performance at the Royal Albert Hall. All her songs got the crowd up and dancing. Her song ‘Love Triangle’ and ‘God Made Girls’ created a great atmosphere in the venue and was a great start to the evening. But of course it was a Friday night so it wouldn't be a great start to the weekend without a dance so she finished her setlist with ‘Rowdy’ and made sure everyone joined in and had just as much fun as she was having on stage.

Maren Morris took the stage and opened with ‘Girl’ straight away she was loving performing to the London crowd. Morris did not come on tour without smoke and bubble machines to make the night even more interesting and enjoyable. The Royal Albert Hall has been a venue on her bucket list for the year so she couldn't strengthen enough how much it meant to her.

She introduced many songs with lovely and heartfelt stories but the one that caught the attention of many was when she introduced ‘To hell and back’. A song about her husband that she wrote 3 years ago when they were starting to fall in love. It was a lovely and meaningful story to introduce an amazing song with some great country styled lyrics. Maren Morris pulled a lot of stunts for her final night of the tour as she had a string band accompany her on many songs but most importantly she brought a special guest on stage to help her sing a song. She mentioned how she had not performed with him in ages and was very happy as she introduced Niall Horan to sing ‘Seeing Blind’ that came out in 2017.

When Maren Morris started to close the evening she began to sing more upbeat songs to ensure for a strong finish. She finished with some strong and popular songs that really boosted her career and the crowd respected how much they meant other. When the introduction of ‘Rich’ started playing the crowd went mad and got straight up on their feet to sing along and dance with Maren Morris. It was such a strong reaction from the crowd but it was even stronger when she sang ‘My Church’ as she mentioned how almost 4 years ago she performed this song at the C2C in London and it was the first time she had heard one of her songs be sung back to her. Her music travels far and wide across all country fans in the world. Maren Moris finished her encore with ‘ The Middle’  by Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey. She introduced the song as the one that ‘changed her life last year’ as it has reached the top ten of the charts in the US, the UK, and several other countries. It was nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.
