NEON WALTZ // ST LUKES, GLASGOW
Neon Waltz hit the intimate surroundings of St Lukes in Glasgow to thrill the sell out audience
★★★★☆
A great night of Indie guitar music lay ahead for the gathering crowd at St Lukes, the former church in Glasgow’s East End, situated an Irn Bru bottle’s throw from the famous Barrowland Ballroom.
First up were Pleasure Heads, a good start and a band with much talent on show. Great potential with these guys. Second band of the evening were Nickajack Men. Hailing from the Bonnybridge area of Stirlingshire, they gave their brand of music an airing, and went down a storm with the crowd. A great support to the main band and another to watch out for in the future.
Main act Neon Waltz are a band with promise. An Indie group with a slightly phycadelic twist, they could easily have slotted in with the music of the 90s when Brit Pop was at its peak. Great guitars and lyrics, and fronted by Jordan Shearer perfectly. Opening with Bare Wood Aisles, Strung up and Stranger Things, you could feel the guys were enjoying themselves, and the crowd were in total appreciation too. A band in fine form and playing great tunes. I Fall ASleep, Bring Me To The Light, Dreamers and Perfect Frame, all impressive, catchy songs. Definitely a band worth seeing live, and im sure one you will hear a lot more of in time. A great night out for Indie music and guitar band fans.
