DANCING ON TABLES // KING TUT'S WAH WAH HUT, GLASGOW
The indie pop band from Dunfermline, Fife, headlined the prestigious King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut as part of their New Years Revolution line up.
★★★★☆ (4.5/5)
The band were supported by Over Yonder and Altinak. Both supports played great sets and really helped to create a stronger atmosphere for Dancing On Tables set. That being said, personally I felt like Over Yonder were quite cheesy when talking to the audience at times which did take me away from their set slightly.
Altinak created a good atmosphere in the room with their positive upbeat energy. They also played their most recent release ‘IDK’, which helped to get the fans excited for the rest of the night. Another good aspect was that they made the effort to speak to fans and thank them for coming along which helped make them a respectable choice of support for the night.
Finally to the stage came the band everyone had been waiting for...Dancing On Tables. From the get go the crowd response was great with fans dancing and singing along to all of their songs. The band played fan favourites like ‘Oh’ and their newly released single ‘stereo’ which created an intense reaction with the audience. Fans were loving every second.
Furthermore, The bands energetic and meaningful stage presences also helped towards creating the upbeat atmosphere within the room.
They also made sure to catch their supports sets also which I felt was a nice touch and very respectable.
The crowd turnout was amazing. Some fans had travelled from Latvia just to come to the gig which show how they have a dedicated and loyal fan base. Fans left happy after an amazing night.
Dancing On Tables will next play in London at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen in early February as well as having few more gigs lined up down south for later on in the year. I definitely look forward to seeing what kind of damage the band does this year on the Scottish music scene.
