DAN + SHAY // O2 INSTITUTE, BIRMINGHAM
Dan + Shay bringing their stunning country sounds to Birmingham’s O2 Institute with epic performance.
★★★★☆ (4/5)
Dan + Shay blew up the Institute last night with their larger than life country sound and cheeky chaps presence. Dan + Shay are currently riding on a wave of success after the release of their third self titled album, their single ’Tequila’ was the most streamed country song of 2018 with over 310 million plays.
They opened the second show in Birmingham on their biggest U.K tour to date, to a screaming crowd of fans. The British crowd sung every word, loud and proud as if they too resided from Nashville. They proceeded to play a collection of songs from their earlier albums, stating to the audience ‘let’s take it back to where it all began’ (a tip of the hat to their first album titled the same) before they played ‘Can’t Say No’ to a very suceptable group of devotees.
Of course, after dropping subtle hints throughout the show of drinking it, it was only then fair that the biggest song of the night closed their show, as the duo belted out ‘Tequila’ much to the crowds delight. The whole place erupted screaming and whooping and shouting every word for these guys, giving them one of the best send offs I’m sure they are to have from any of the shows on their current U.K tour. The atmosphere was incredible.
If you’d like to see for yourselves, check out the snippet that Dan + Shay posted to their twitter last night after the show:
Needless to say these two were heart throbs and I’m sure that half the screaming women in the audience will agree with me, that they should definitely come back and see us soon.
