The Brothers Osborne (actual brothers TJ and John) ended their first ever UK headline tour, with a Glasgow show that was in such high demand, they had to move the venue. Professing during the show that they thought the might be able to half-fill the original venue, Sauchiehall’s Garage, they were both surprised and delighted in selling out the entire 1,300 capacity O2 ABC with ease!

Opening up for the brothers is award-winning Kendell Marvel, with whom the Bros wrote a few songs for their brand new record they are currently touring, ‘Port Saint Joe’. Marvel warms the crowd up with his deep, belting country vocals and stunningly clear songwriting that speaks direct to the heart of the audience.

The band take the stage, soon followed by TJ and John; guitars in hand and ready to go. They open with their new single ‘Shoot Me Straight’ showing the crowd they ain’t here to mess around!

From the instance they start playing we are spoiled with a wealth of talent to consume. Tj delivers thundering vocals that vibrate the chest of the crowd and John capitalises on the spaces in between vocal lines, piercing and punctuating the songs with shattering riffs. We are immediately exposed to a 1-2 punch operating on a level that could only be explained through the vey fact they are siblings and have been in sync with each other since birth.

The crowd are in awe, jaws agape, as John administers his exuberant solo on the hit track ‘Stay a Little Longer’. This is where we get an insight to something that is not necessarily clear until you witness this band live. They don’t play like a normal country band. These boys are bluesy, guitar driven musicians who just happen to play in the style of country. The music is full and the leading lines are complex in their execution, a distinct characteristic of a band that have served their time on stage already and truly feel the music.

New stand-outs such as ‘Pushing up Daisies’, and ‘Weed, Whisky And Willie’ are particularly memorable numbers, not only for their live tone but also for their beautiful songwriting.

This duo mean business, treating the audience song after song and throwing curveballs that include a guitar rendition of the classic ‘Hey Jude’ and surprising set closer ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’.

Before finishing on a high, they announce that they will back in November of this year for another headline tour - if one thing is certain, this is not one to be missed.
