★★★☆☆ (3.5/5)
Having attended a few gigs at the Attic Bar before, I was aware that it was quite a tight little venue. Knowing that Marsicans had sold out I was intrigued to see how all the people were going to squeeze in. Being one of the first people in the door, the room began to fill quite fast as opening Indigo Velvet took to the stage.
Indigo Velvet are a Scottish 4-piece band from Edinburgh, their style described as ‘Tropical Pop’. The band recently brought 2017 to a close with a BBC Introducing live session, their biggest hometown show at the 750 person capacity Liquid Rooms and a feature on This Morning on ITV. Even though the crowd was still filling the room, the boys began their set, playing songs from their latest EP Vol. 1 as well as some track they had released previous to the EP. Each song reminded me of summer and had such a feel-good tune to them. From bouncing around the small space they had and looking like they were having an absolute ball, it wasn’t at all long until the crowd joined them swaying and dancing along to their warm harmonies. They are definitely blowing up and a group to look out for!
